Hi everyone! This is my second Book Buzz post (see July’s post here). I am very excited about several August releases and I wanted to share those with you all.

Here are the books coming out in August that I have been lusting after:

follow link The Islands at the End of the World by Austin Aslan

Expected release date: August 5 2014

This book looks really interesting. It looks to be a bit of a mix between a straight-up survival story and a dystopia. Whatever it turns out to be, it certainly has my attention!

follow The Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco

Expected release date: August 5 2014

This book has been described as “Dexter” meets “The Grudge” – you can bet that caught my attention! It’s a debut novel and it looks incredibly intriguing – it definitely looks like it can deliver the right amount of chills!

hookup and hangout Gates of Thread and Stone by Lori M. Lee

Expected release date: August 5 2014

A fantasy novel with labyrinths and time travel? This couldn’t be any more up my street! I am really looking forward to this. Buzzworthy Scale:

jazz lovers dating Servants of the Storm by Delilah S. Dawson

Expected release date: August 5 2014

This book looks like it is going to be a thrilling read. It has all the makings of being a really creepy mystery. The only downside – a possible love triangle. Despite this, I am willing to give this book a chance as otherwise it looks completely enthralling (and the protagonist is biracial – yay for diversity!)

The Merciless by Danielle Vega

I had been looking forward to this book but I have read a few less than stellar reviews – still I am intrigued enough by the premise and I love me some horror so I will still be reading this.

The premise of this looks interesting – I am certainly interested in reading this but I probably will not rush out and buy it right away.

The Unfinished Life of Addison Stone by Adele Griffin

Expected release date: August 12 2014

I only came across this book recently and it gets pretty positive reviews. I think I will check it out at some point, but again no rush!

Fiendish by Brenna Yovanoff

Expected release date: August 14 2014

I love, love, love Brenna Yovanoff and cannot wait for this book to come out. I am already tingly with anticipation!

Feral by Holly Schindler

Expected release date: August 26 2014

This looks really incredible – a murder mystery with paranormal elements this looks like a really suspenseful read.

Amity by Micol Ostow

Expected release date: August 26 2014

I have always been pretty fascinated by the events surrounding Amityville – I have read the original book and seen all the films. I do think the Lutz’s story is likely a hoax but the story of the DeFeo family is truly horrific. This book definitely looks interesting.

Well, that is my list of most highly anticipated books that are being released in August. There are probably many (many) others that have temporarily slipped my mind but the above are the ones that have caught my eye. Going by my Buzzworthy scale, I would say that the most likely purchases are (in order of excitement):

gates  fiendish

girl  metal  feral

islands  servants  some  amity

forget  unfinished

What August releases are you looking forward to?
