LGBT Month is hosted by Laura @ Laura Plus Books and Cayce @ Fighting Dreamer. It runs throughout the month of April and it’s here to celebrate LGBT+ readers, LGBT+ authors and of course LGBT+ books.

We are now entering Week 3 of LGBT Month – how time just flies by! This week’s challenge is to create LGBT-themed poetry. This is well out of my comfort zone, I tell you! The last time I can remember writing poetry was when I was about twelve years old (and that was a long time ago now!) and I was made to by my English teacher. I had to read it out loud in front of the class which was…challenging for me to say the least!
Despite the humiliation that followed that little experience, I really wanted to try my hand at the challenge for this week (and also because it is National Poetry Month!) so I have attempted an acrostic poem. Here it is:
Hope you like it!

Simplistic and beautiful. Love it.
It’s amazing how easily the message comes across with so few words. Looking forward to checking out your LGBT reviews this month.
Thanks! Keeping it simple seemed to work best for me! 😉
Acrostic poetry! I love it. It’s the kind of motivational thing you want to stick on your wall and remember each morning.
Thanks! I’m not very good at poetry but I wanted to try something new and this just seemed to work best for me. 😉
