stacking the shelves – a weekly meme hosted by tynga’s reviews & reading reality
what I have been up to:
The snowy weather meant a couple of days away from work this week, which I put to good use by catching up with my reading. All in all, it was a win/win! It also allowed me the time to do more book-shopping which is a good thing for me (because, yay! books!) but not so much for my groaning bookshelves.
The only downside to the snowy weather is that I have been stuck indoors for the last couple of days. The food cupboards are also getting sparse because I do not fancy the walk to the shops and I have it on good authority that their shelves are pretty bare anyway. 😉
snowy weather = full bookshelves!
Lord of the White Hell: Book One by Ginn Hale | Lord of the White Hell: Book Two by Ginn Hale | Champion of the Scarlet Wolf: Book One by Gin Hale | Champion of the Scarlet Wolf: Book Two by Ginn Hale | Casket of Souls by Lynn Flewelling | Shards of Time by Lynn Flewelling | The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison | The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed | Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
Eagle-eyed readers of this blog may notice that I have bought the above series by Ginn Hale again. I had initially bought them on kindle but I prefer to own physical copies of all of my favourite books. I know I have only just read these but they have become firm favourites.
…and I did the opposite with this series by Sarah Rees Brennan. I already own these book in paperback form but I took a notion to read them again (after finishing In Other Lands) and my copies are boxed away at the moment whilst I get my spare room re-organised. Ergo, I ended up buying the kindle versions too! They were going for £0.99 in the kindle store so it hasn’t been too deadly on my finances. 😉
The Prince’s Consort by Antonia Aquilante | The Artist’s Masquerade by Antonia Aquilante | The Scholar’s Heart by Antonia Aquilante
I have been wanting to read this series for awhile, so I ended up buying all five books! Hopefully it is as good as it looks. I love the cover art too.
The Sorcerer’s Guardian by Antonia Aquilante | The Dragon’s Devotion by Antonia Aquilante | The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert
I also picked up Bound by a Dragon which looks like something I would really enjoy reading. I was also happy to get The Hazel Wood in a book box!
Wild looks like a really harrowing read and I have enjoyed other books by the author so I’m sure I will like this one. I have read the first book Depth of Field so I couldn’t resist picking up Color Me In (grrr, I hate spelling it that way but that is the title, so….) The Forgotten Ones was my Kindle First choice this month and loooks really interesting.
Second Best by Helen Cavanagh | Too Young to Know by Elisabeth Ogilvie | Love to the Rescue by Deborah Kent
I couldn’t resist a wee Wildfire romance lot when it was going at a really great price on eBay! I’m happy to add these books to my (ever)increasing collection!
This lot of Heartlines books was also up for sale by the same seller so I just couldn’t resist! I haven’t read any of these before which is a bonus.
Kingdom Series Collection by Marie Hall | Free to Kill by Julie Mellon | The Faerie Prince by Rachel Morgan
A couple of free Kindle reads that look really interesting. I can never resist a freebie! I am especially intrigued by the Kingdom Series since I love retellings.
Beautiful Demons Books 1-3 by Sarra Cannon | Bound by a Dragon by Linda K. Hopkins | Sara’s Game by Ernie Lindsey
I love anything (and I mean ANYTHING) with Dragons so Bound by a Dragon was a must! The others look interesting too!
snowy weather = catch up with arc’s!
The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw | Graevale by Lynette Noni | The Right Thing to do at the Time by Dov Zeller
I was so chuffed to be approved for The Wicked Deep – it looks awesome! I also cannot wait to read Graevale – I have the first three books so I am looking forward to diving in!
The Art of Escaping by Erin Callahan | If I Tell You by Alicia Tuckerman | The Oddling Prince by Nancy Springer
I am really looking forward to The Art of Escaping and The Oddling Prince. If I Tell You also looks pretty darn amazing too. Totally spoiled for choice!
