Worth the Hype
I haven’t posted a T5W post in an absolute age but it seemed like a very good time to rectify this travesty! This week’s prompt is books that were ‘Worth the Hype’. I’m going to talk about books I’ve read this year (though these were not necessarily released this year).
1. The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
This book was so hyped I thought for sure it would be a let-down. I ended up really enjoying it. A fluffy read to be sure, but a very entertaining one. Loved it.
2. Echoes and Empires by Morgan Rhodes
I loved the Falling Kingdoms series by the same author so I wasn’t sure if I would love this latest offering as much (especially when I found out it was set in the same world). I’m happy to report it lived up to the hype and more (my own personal hype too which is even more hard to please!)
3. The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun
This book kept popping up on all my social media feeds and so many people loved it I was almost scared to read it. I ended up thoroughly enjoying it (although I really struggle with third person present tense usually…)
4. Don’t You Dare by C.E. Ricci
I’ve loved the author’s previous books so I was pretty sure this one would be no different but there is always a little niggle of doubt, especially when the newest book has a lot of hype attached. Thankfully, this one was a winner!
5. The Bird and the Sword by Amy Harmon
I love Amy Harmon’s contemporary and historical novels but I was a bit unsure about her foray into fantasy so put this one off for ages. I shouldn’t have worried, it was worth all the hype and more.

I haven’t read The Bird and the Sword but I’d like to some day.
It’s so good – I highly recommend it (and the sequel too!). 🙂
I need to make a note for myself about The Love Hypothesis because I keep forgetting to see if our library has it every time I go and it’s one I am so so so curious and interested in reading!!
