Top Ten Tuesday is an awesome meme previously hosted by the lovely folks @ The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme is top ten:
Books to Read At the Beach
I’m not usually one for contemporaries but when I am at the beach that is the type of book I crave. The fluffier, the better! It’s the one time that books with minimal angst is the way to go. I haven’t really been on many beach holidays in the last couple of years so I’m a bit behind on reading this type of book so this list also kinda works as a summer TBR. Hopefully sooner rather than later!
1. Golden by Jessi Kirby
This book sounds so awesome! I love the idea of following someone’s journal and finding yourself in the process. It’s been on my TBR for way too long.
2. Open Road Summer by Emery Lord
I’ve been meaning to read ‘Open Road Summer’ for absolutely ages and it looks like the perfect beach read! I definitely want to try to get to this during the summer.
3. Amy & Roger’s epic Detour by Morgan Matson
I have read other book’s by Morgan Matson and thoroughly enjoyed them so I am keen to read this – one of her earlier books. Definitely near the top of my summer TBR.
4. How My Summer Went Up in Flames by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski
I feel like I bought this book years and years ago and it really needs to be read because it sounds pretty darn awesome!
5. The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
Jenny Han is the Queen of contemporaries and I am absolutely kicking myself that I haven’t read this series (yet!) I definitely need to get on that asap!
6. The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West
Another author I have been meaning to read for like the longest time is Kasie West. I have a feeling I will really love her books. Soon…
7. Invincible Summer by Hannah Moskowitz
I love Hannah Moskowitz’s books so I’m really not sure how I’ve let this one slip through the cracks. But seriously, what the hell is wrong with me!!
8. Two-Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt
This book sounds super-intriguing – I like books with lots of twists and turns and this looks like it will definitely deliver on that front. A must-read, for sure!
9. This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen
One of the very few Sarah Dessen books I haven’t read! That definitely makes it a book I need to read pronto! Seriously though, this book looks really great for the beach.
10. Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler
I really enjoyed Sarah Ocker’s ‘Bittersweet’ so I really do want to read the rest of her books. So this looks like the perfect place to start – a great, summery read!
