Books I Read In One Sitting

I am really loving this week’s topic because I quite often finish books in one sitting (I’m a fast reader anyway but if I’m super-into a book I tend to filter everything else out and just read!) Here are some of my favourites:

books read in one sitting

1. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

I remember the first time I read this book I was super-intense about it! It’s one of my absolute favourites and I credit it for getting me back into reading YA fiction.

2. Hushed by Kelley Armstrong

This book is just so darned good and bingeable! The story is great – very involving and gets you sucked in good so you don’t want to look away in case you miss anything.

3. Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff

I remember the first time I read this I stayed up way late because I just couldn’t put it down. I was pretty exhausted the following day but it was well worth it!

4. Omake by Karin Lowachee

I was so excited to get new content for this series I tore through this collection of short stories! I had read a couple before but a lot of them were new to me and I was uber-excited.

5. Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas

This book ended up becoming my favourite by the author (a total surprise to me!) and I couldn’t make myself stop reading for anything. It is definitely compulsive-reading.

6. The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

I have never been much of a romance reader but this book completely and utterly enthralled me and definitely encouraged me to seek out more from the genre. I couldn’t put it down!

7. Sweethearts by Sara Zarr

This book is pretty short so in one sense it was easy to get through but it is also a gut-punch of a read at the same time. I couldn’t look away even though there were times I really wanted to. Powerful stuff.

8. The Only Alien on the Planet by Kristen D. Randle

Another hard-hitting book but such an engrossing read I zoomed through it in one sitting. It’s an oldie (that has been updated in recent years by the author) but it remains a powerful read.

9. Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard

This book was a revelation for me and very quickly became one of my favourite reads. I definitely stayed up well past my bedtime because it was so fantastic I really couldn’t tear myself away.

10. The Late Great Me by Sandra Scoppettone

This book is not an easy one to read (I grew up with an alcoholic father so it was pretty triggering at times). However, it seriously wowed me and gave me a new understanding that made me more sympathetic to people with an alcohol addiction.
