Books on My Fall 2021 To-Read List
The darker nights and cooler weather always makes me want to curl up with a good book – the spookier the better! Fall (or Autumn for us Brits!) is my favourite season and it’s made even better as it gives me the best excuse to get cozy and just read to my hearts content. Here are some of the books I really want to read this season…
1. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
I’ve put off reading this book for so long so I think it’s past time that I finally read it! I’m not sure why I’ve held off – probably fearing that the hype will prove to be wrong? I’m not sure but whatever the reason, I’m determined to finally get my finger out of my arse and pick this one up.
2. Witchmark by C.L. Polk
I’m really excited to read this one – I’ve been waiting for the right moment and that moment is now (or, you know, soon!) It totally looks like my cuppa tea!
3. Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin
Another book that has sat for far too long on my (admittedly dusty!) shelves! I am for sure making it a priority – it needs to happen! I keep seeing so much gorgeous art for this book and I am super intrigued…
4. The Last Sun by K.D. Edwards
This book caught my eye because I have it on good authority as well as spooky shenanigans it also has a cute romance and great friendship arc between the main characters which is great because often friendships get left on a backburner to the romance.
5. A Ferry of Bones & Gold by Hailey Turner
I’ve been holding off on this series until the last book comes out (which is really soon) so I’ll soon be able to dive right in (since I’ve bought all of them and just need the final book). I can’t wait!
6. A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee
I adored Victoria Lee’s duology Feverwake so you can better believe that this book is in my sights! I’ve heard great things and it’s meant to be twisty and just about a perfect read for this time of year. I’m psyched!!
7. White Trash Warlock by David R. Slayton
I kept seeing this book all over bookstagram and it got me really intrigued so I purchased it on a whim (as I am wont to do). I’ve been keeping it specifically to read in the run up to Halloween. I am really looking forward to starting it.
8. Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco
I actually have several copies of this book lying around (I do love my special editions!) so I should really read it at some point! It definitely gives off a spooky vibe which I am living for!!
9. The Nature of Witches by Rachel Griffin
C’mon, the title says it all! Seriously though, I bought this a few months ago in preparation to read at this time of year and I have been waiting (im)patiently! Soon my pretty, soon…
10. The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer
This one’s a bit different to the others on this list but it looks like a spectacularly intense and claustrophobic read which I’m just seriously in the mood for right now. This might actually be first on my TBR…
