Stacking the Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality
what’s the buzz: weekly round-up
It has been a pretty uneventful week for the most part though I did quite a few Lois Duncan books – I love getting an eBay haul! I’m really happy as I was able to track down a couple of pretty hard-to-find editions.
I also had to go for my flu jab this week. I’m sorry to say that my arm is still hurting quite a bit from the injection. Needles don’t normally both me but this time it was particularly sore and now it has gone all red and swollen. 🙁
books bought – ebay haul and otherwise
Like I mentioned above, it’s mainly been an eBay haul this week (lots of Lois Duncan books!) but I also got some others which I am super-happy with!
What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera | The Light Between Worlds by Laura Weymouth | Rawblood by Catriona Ward | The Dark Vault by Victoria Schwab
I am so happy that ‘What If It’s Us’ is finally out (and how cute is that cover?) Also really happy with ‘The Light Between Worlds’ and ‘Rawblood’. Lastly I (finally) bought the two books in ‘The Archived’ series in a bind-up edition (with a special bonus story – yay!)
Locked in Time by Lois Duncan | Down a Dark Hall by Lois Duncan | Don’t Look Behind You by Lois Duncan | Stranger With My Face by Lois Duncan | They Never Came Home by Lois Duncan
A good number of Lois Duncan books in my eBay haul this week! I was lucky to see these five in a lot – I have been collecting the different editions of Lois Duncan’s books and it’s getting exceedingly rare to come across some of the older U.S. editions.
Summer of Fear by Lois Duncan | The Devil on the Road by Robert Westall | Stranger With My Face by Lois Duncan
I was super happy to get this edition of ‘Summer of Fear’ – it’s getting really hard-to-find of late. I also finally tracked down this edition of ‘Stranger With My Face’. It’s the one I can remember reading as a teen (from my school library, no less!) I’ve always wanted to own this version. I was also happy to receive this Robert Westall book in this month’s Prudence and the Crow box. I love these Puffin Plus editions and I’ve been building up a collection recently.
Craving by Helen Hardt | Capture Me by Anna Zaires
A couple of freebies for my Kindle – I can never resist a free read. 😉 These both look pretty intriguing and I’m in the mood for something different so…
books for review
I can’t believe I forgot to list one of my ARCs last week! The most exciting one too (I am a knob!) Ah well, better late than never!!
Lie by Natalia Jaster | Into the Hollow by Lynn Vroman
I was so excited to get an ARC of ‘Lie’ so I can’t believe I forgot to include this book last week!! Nevermind, here it is and it was utterly enthralling (my review will be going up very soon!)
Crow Flight by Susan Cunningham | The Eternal by Bianca Hunter
I also got another couple of advance review copies which I am very much looking forward to starting. A pretty good haul all around!

Wonderful haul! I hope you will enjoy these. 🙂
Looks like a lot of great books. Hope you enjoy them and have a great weekend.
I read What If It’s Us this week and thought it was super cute! So many great books here 🙂
Here’s my update: https://bookloaner.wordpress.com/2018/10/19/stacking-the-shelves-october-20-2018/
I hope your arm heals quickly! My mom once got a giant lump and bruise from a shot. I have no idea why. Enjoy your new books! I need to read What If It’s Us, too.
