Aladdin – The poor boy who found a genie.
What is the latest book treasure/gem you found?
I would have to go with Faking Normal by Courtney C. Stevens. I thought it looked intriguing but did not expect it to have as big an impact on me as it did.
Alice in Wonderland – The girl who fell through a rabbit’s hole.
Which book made you really feel like you landed in another world?
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. As much as I loved the first book in this series, Cinder, the second book swept me up more and I was completely immersed in the characters and the story.
East of the sun and west of the moon – where a girl embarks on a journey to save her love.
Who is one of your favorite kick-ass heroines?
Katniss from the Hunger Games trilogy – I like her because she is kick-ass but flawed and imperfect at the same time. I just really related to her a lot.
The Frog Prince – where an enchanted prince becomes human again.
What is a book you thought you would hate, but end up loving?
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. I would class myself as a complete Maggie Stiefvater fangirl now but when I first read Shiver I really didn’t enjoy it that much (the writing was great but I just didn’t connect with it) and never picked up the following sequels. I had heard a lot of praise about The Scorpio Races so I decided to give it a shot even though I expected to be really let down by it. I ended up completely adoring the book and I really want to re-read Shiver to see if I would like it more this time round.
Hansel and Gretel – left alone in the woods and captured by a witch.
Which duo (sister/sister, brother/sister) is your favorite and why?
This is a difficult one as I cannot think of many sibling relationships that are depicted positively in the books I have read, but I really liked the relationship between Sorcha and Finbar in Juliet Marillier’s Daughter of the Forest.
Little Red Riding Hood – almost eaten by a wolf dressed as her grandmother.
What book disappointed you after falling in love with the cover and blurb?
I have mentioned this a lot lately but Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick really disappointed me. I loved the cover and the blurb looked interesting but the book was just not for me at all.
Rumpelstilskin – nobody knows his name.
Which book do you love that doesn’t get enough attention?
I recently read a book called Falling from the Sky by Nikki Godwin which I think is vastly underrated.

I know what you mean. I have been raving about both of them since I read them (really need to get round to reviewing them soon) but I wish they were better known.
The same thing happened with me. Shiver was a bit of a let down and I didn’t go for any other of Maggie Stiefvater’s books, but then I picked up The Scorpio Races on a whim and loved it…which led me to The Raven Boys and now I’m hopelessly in love with the series.
I really don’t know why I didn’t get into Shiver. The writing isn’t vastly different to Scorpio Races and The Raven Boys (which I also adore). I really have to give it another shot. 🙂
I think I liked Scarlet more than Cinder too! There was more action and I’m in love with Thorne 😀 Sorcha and Finbar, that is a great pick! I love her books.
Thorne is great isn’t he? I have Cress still to read but I am a bit reluctant to start it since Winter is quite a way off yet!!
Juliet Marillier is one of my favourite writers – Daughter of the Forest was the first book I had ever read by her and I still adore it and the characters. 😀
