This week’s theme is top ten:
Books By My Favourite Authors That I Still Haven’t Read
This topic is one that speaks really strongly to me, because I have so many books by my favourite authors that I haven’t read yet! It’s actually scary! Today’s topic was actually ‘Bookstores/Libraries I’ve Always Wanted to Visit’ but I found this way too difficult. Mainly because I don’t have a burning desire to visit any bookstores or libraries.
Sure, if I was nearby I would definitely look a few places up and make a point of visiting them. But I wouldn’t actively choose to visit a place because of a bookstore or library.
So, instead of this I have gone with ‘Books By My Favorite Authors That I Still Haven’t Read’. I actually missed this topic a few weeks ago and was actually pretty bummed about it.
1. The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison
Katherine Addison is a pseudonym for one of my favourite authors Sarah Monette who wrote the ‘Doctrine of Labyrinths’ series. This is one of my all-time favourite fantasy series. So why haven’t I picked up ‘The Goblin Emperor’? Beats me! 🤷
2. Casket of Souls by Lynn Flewelling
The ‘Nightrunner’ series is a firm favourite of mine and I adore Lynn Flewelling’s writing. Yet, I still haven’t read the last two books in this series. Maybe because I don’t want it to be over?
3. Dreamer’s Pool by Juliet Marillier
Juliet Marillier is such a beautiful writer and I have adored each and every one of her books. However, for some reason I still haven’t read this series despite owning all the books. I don’t get it either because Marillier is on my shortlist of favourite authors.
4. The Rose & The Dagger by Renee Ahdieh
I f’loved ‘The Wrath & The Dawn’ and was so excited for the follow-up. Renee Ahdieh just has a way with words that speaks to me. Guess what? Still haven’t finished the second book in this duology. I suck. 🙁
5. Winter by Marissa Meyer
I don’t know what it is about this series. I read ‘Cinder’ and ‘Scarlet’ back to back and absolutely loved them both. Yet when ‘Cress’ came out I dug my heels in. It took me about a year and a half to read it but I loved it even more than the first two books. Yet, ‘Winter’ lingers on my shelf, unread and unwanted (not really unwanted but you get what I mean). 😛
6. Dust to Dust by Karina Halle
How I love the ‘Experiment in Terror’ series. Karina Halle is a blindingly addictive writer and although her contemporaries are golden I still have the biggest soft spot for her first horror series. But I still haven’t read the last book. I know with this one it definitely is that I don’t want to say goodbye to this fantastic series.
7. Magic Breaks by Ilona Andrews
The Kate Daniels series is amazing. One of my utmost favourite urban fantasy worlds. I love everything that I have read from this writing duo but I seemed to stop reading the series at ‘Magic Breaks’. I really need to get back to it and soon.
8. Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead
The ‘Vampire Academy’ series is very special to me. I re’read it frequently (due another re-read pretty soon actually). Richelle Mead is definitely one of my all-time favourite authors yet the ‘Bloodlines’ series is sitting unfinished on my bookshelf.
9. Dark Currents by Jacqueline Carey
Another one of my favourite authors; I still can’t believe I haven’t read this series yet! Maybe I have a little urban fantasy fatigue?? Who knows, but I need to do something about it soon! 😉
10. The Gaslight Dogs by Karin Lowachee
I think I have put off reading this book for so long because I no there is no new output (yet) from one of my all-time favourite writers. I know the author is writing a new book in the ‘Warchild’ series (yay!!) but I think I have been saving this one.

I am the exact same way with the Lunar Chronicles! I also have Winter left to get to, but for some reason I just am not picking it up?? I’m glad to hear I’m not alone, haha. I really need to get to The Goblin Emperor as well. Hope you finally get a chance to read these. 🙂
I’ve had The Goblin Emperor on my shelf for a while, and still haven’t read it! I would recommend Dreamer’s Pool. I felt that it was quite different from other Juliet Marillier books I’d read, but it was still incredible.
