today’s topic is: Favourite Bromances
Who doesn’t love a good bromance? It often tends to get overlooked in favour of the dreaded love triangle (urgh) but when it is done right it is awesome (and I suppose at least you can say it gets more positive representation than girl friendships which are generally toxic in YA). Here are a couple of examples of male friendships done right:
1. Rhysand, Cassian, and Azriel from A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas
I love these dudes. Their strong friendship is really what made these books for me. All three characters have each other’s backs no matter what and it is a beautiful thing to witness. The above images are taken from the awesome ACOTAR colouring book. I haven’t yet gotten around to doing any colouring but the line-art is awesome enough on its own merit dontcha think? 😉 | Goodreads |
2. Gansey and Ronan from The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater
Friendship is a major theme in these books but the best friendship for me is the one that Gansey has with his ultimate BFF Ronan Lynch. They couldn’t be anymore dissimilar (at least on the surface) but that’s what makes their friendship so special. | Goodreads |
3. Gabriel and Hunter from the Elementals series by Brigid Kemmerer
I do love me some snarky bad boys and both Gabriel and Hunter fit the bill. 😉 Granted, the whole series is about male friendships and brotherhood (romance is definitely secondary to this) but I really love how Gabriel forms a bond with Hunter – the true outsider – and their friendship just seems so organic and natural. | Goodreads |
4. Sam and Jon from A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin
These two characters are just so supportive of each other there is no way they would not make this list. Images taken from the awesome Game of Thrones colouring book. | Goodreads |
5. Noah and Isaiah from Pushing the Limits series by Katie McGarry
These two are such big, tough guys but their friendship is actually really sweet and they are always there for each other when the other needs it. True friendship goals. | Goodreads |

Loved this post! We had two of the same answers, and I really enjoyed reading the rest of yours!
Thanks Alaina! Loved your other answers too – I will definitely need to check out the Lux series, it sounds like something I would enjoy. 🙂
