today’s topic is: favourite romance novels
I’ve got a small confession to make: I’m not actually the biggest fan of romance novels. Sure, I like romance in novels, but I much prefer it to only be a part of the story not the main focus.
That being said, there are books that could be considered romances that can be counted amongst my very favourites. I don’t very often fall for romances but when I do, I fall hard!! You can check out my last T5W post here which details some of my favourite (m/m) pairings.
1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
I love the whole trilogy to be honest, but the first book is arguably the best. It really opened my eyes in a lot of ways because it made me realize I could enjoy a light fluffy romance just as much as my usual angst-filled reads! This book is super-sweet but without being cloying and definitely made me fall in love with Anna and Étienne!
2. The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice to Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
This is technically also a historical novel but I would say that romance is definitely at the forefront. I love the relationship between Monty and Percy – it definitely is at the heart of the novel (see what I did there?) 😉
3. Sins & Needles by Karina Halle
I adore this contemporary romance by Karina Halle; definitely twisted but in the best possible way. Ellie and Camden own my heart because they are both so broken and fierce. Definitely a romance for the ages as, although I know a lot of people preferred Javier, I was rooting for Camden the whole way through!
4. Know Not Why by Hannah Johnson
This is maybe the cutest romance I have ever read! The book is also hilariously funny and furthermore has really awesome and endearing characters that just steal your heart. Howie and Arthur are just the cutest ever!
5. Autoboyography by Christina Lauren
This book was just… gah, I have no words!! The budding romance between Tanner and Sebastian is just lovely even throughout all of the numerous challenges they face. The ending was hard-fought one and you know that things are not going to be easy for them, and yet… I don’t want to say any more for fear of spoilers. Just… read this book, ok?? 😉

Some lovely books on this list for sure.
I’ve only read Anna and the French Kiss from here, and I absolutely loved it as well! I didn’t know The Gentleman’s Guide had romance, and now I DEFINITELY want to read it!
Haven’t read these, because I’m not a big fan of romances myself either 😀 but I’ve heard good things about some of them 🙂
