Friends Like These: Books I’d Like to Revisit
I’m the first to admit that I frequently revisit my favourite books – they are like old friends to me. I’ve actually been on a bit of a re-reading spree this past year which has been pretty darn awesome. It’s a comfortable place to be; back in one of your favourite books.
Although, I get the argument that sometimes a book cannot live up to the very first time you fell in love with it… but I never let that stop me! Furthermore, the vast majority I enjoy even more second (or third, or fourth!) time around.
Since I’ve actually already revisited some of my old favourites over the last seven months or so, this list is going to be the ones I haven’t hit yet but you can believe I probably will sooner or later!
1. Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier
This book is far too beautiful to only read once. Honestly, this book has stayed with me for years. The series is simple incredible; so moving and evocative.
2. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
What to say about this book that has not been said already? It’s perfect. I have definitely taken a notion to re-read it again. As a matter of fact, I recently finally purchased a physical copy as I only had an eBook version before.
3. Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb
After reading the final *sob* book about Fitz last year, I wanted to read the entire series again from the beginning. I haven’t got to it (yet)… but I will! 😉
4. Teeth by Hannah Moskowitz
Gah… this book just kills me. Absolutely and completely floors me. It is such a stunningly good story and I honestly don’t know why I haven’t re-read it already. Most importantly, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for something a little bit different.
5. Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta
Melina Marchetta is a master class storyteller. She usually writes contemporary novels – the Lumatere Chronicles is her first foray into fantasy. Moreover, a case could be made that it is an example of her best work.

Finnikin of the Rock was fantastic. I need to continue the series. 🙂
