Hello and welcome to the new blog!

welcome cover

Well, I finally did it – I made the switch to self-hosted! This is still a work-in-progress – I am currently working on updating all of my links and stuff but I am pretty excited to finally be ready to unveil my new blog!

I must say a huge thank you to Ashley at Creative Whim for her wonderful work on the updated Tweak Me theme, which I am now sporting on my site, and also for the most amazing plugin ever made – The Ultimate Book Blogger plugin! I have been having a blast tweaking this gorgeous theme and the UBB is a godsend!!

It has been a week of trials and tribulations: many, many edits were necessary and on top of that I managed to download a virus which knocked my laptop out of commission for a few days (which my other half has now valiantly restored to full working order, I am pleased to report)! Not all of my posts are working right but I am as good to go as I am going to get for now!

I will still be working on getting everything tip-top over the next couple of weeks but at least I can get back to the business of blogging – I have really missed it this last week and all of the lovely bloggers I regularly talk to! Thanks so much to all of my friends and followers for being so supportive and understanding – it is very much appreciated!!

I will hopefully be doing something to celebrate this occasion in the upcoming weeks but for now I just wanted to say hello to everyone!

  1. It looks wonderful Brin! It’s great that you made the big move! Being on blogger though, I’m so jealous of the UBB plug! 😀 It’ seems like there was a lot of work that went into the switch, but it looks like all the work was worth it!

Thanks! The UBB plugin is amazing! It really made switching over easier and was one of the main reasons I wanted to go self-hosted!

It has been a lot of work (it’s still a work in progress) but you’re right – it totally is worth it. 🙂

Thanks! OMG like you wouldn’t believe haha! I’m totally OCD though so that didn’t help. 😉

      Thanks for stopping by. 😀

  2. Hello to you on the flip side!

And welcome to another thousand hours of stressful fun fixing the tiniest of details on this new site–it’s basically your second newborn child (blog-wise, of course, or not?!). For full transparency: my first thought after opening the link was “this is very gray” (but I’m just full of nonsense so don’t listen to me.)

Lol – I know right? What have I let myself in for…. 😉

Very true – I’m like a mother hen at the moment!

It’s no worries – I appreciate any and all feedback. 🙂 The background is really a placeholder until I find something I like (it came as one of the pre-designed choices with the theme) so will not be sticking around much longer. 🙂

  3. Congrats on becoming self hosted! Hey, I bet you can make money off your blog now too if you wanted to have advertisements. 😉
And accck @ the virus! That sucks! Hope everything is squared away now! 🙂

      Thanks! That’s true – I could (probably wont though 😉 ).

It was a nightmare – luckily my other half is a dab hand at fixing these things lol. Don’t know what I would have done without him!!

      Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

Thanks! I am (mostly) happy with it – still a bit too much of a perfectionist though lol.

      Thanks for stopping by. <3
