Male Author Challenge 2014
Another challenge I am taking part in this year is the Male Author challenge 2014 (again hosted by ♥!The Young Adult Book Club!♥ on Goodreads). It wasn’t until I tried to complete this challenge last year (and failed miserably but lets not go there!) that I realized how few male authors I actually read (well in the Young Adult genre anyway – I do read plenty of male authors who write science fiction and fantasy).
Here are the rules of this challenge:
- read a YA book by a male author or co-written by a male author (at least 5 books).
I am not going to set the goal too high on this challenge but I aim to try and read at least 10 books by male YA authors in 2014. I am not sure if the lack of male YA authors on my reading list last year was low because there are fewer men that write in this field (I am hypothesizing that this is the case at least) or if I genuinely tend to gravitate towards female writers in this genre and do not stretch myself enough and give male authors more of a chance. Regardless of what the reasons for this were previously, I have every intention of completing this challenge in 2014.

Here are the books I have read so far:
Everytime I think of You by Jim Provenzano
Something Like Spring by Jay Bell
Heavyweight by M. B. Mulhall
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
Sia by Josh Grayson
