Monthly Round-Up – August 2014
Well, August certainly flew by! It was a very quick month despite me being on the countdown to my holidays! I didn’t get as much reading done as I would have liked but I was pretty distracted with life stuff this month. I am hoping to get back on track next month. Here are my highlights from this month.
Books I read this month:
Still not a great amount read in August. I am hoping to catch up in September when I have a 2 week vacation from work.
Books I reviewed this month:

I was finally able to unveil my review for Fool’s Assassin which I read back in April. A fantastic start to what is sure to be an amazing and heartbreaking series.
Top Read of the Month:
Isla and the Happily Ever After was finally released this month – and it was everything I hoped it would be! I would go as far to say this is my favourite out of the series. Look out for my review soon.
Top Cover of the Month:
I won this in a giveaway in June and I have been waiting (im)patiently for this to arrive. I received my copy from the publisher this month. Many thanks to Picador Books and to Ula @ Blog of Erised for hosting the giveaway! Isn’t the cover absolutely stunning?
Blog News:
I reached my 1 year blogoversary this month! I cannot believe I have been blogging for over a year now.
Challenge Updates:
I am beginning to think I better cut my losses with my reading challenges this year. I do not seem to be making much progress with them. I am going to try to get these put in order in September.
Top Posts this Month:
My review for Fool’s Assassin was probably my most popular post this month (besides the weekly memes I take part in which usually are the most viewed posts). I am really happy about this because I loved this book and wanted to spread that love as widely as I could!
My post celebrating my 1 Year Blogoversary also got a fair amount of views as did my 55 Bookish Quesions survey. I was also pleased to see my (slightly) revamped Book Buzz post for new releases in September was pretty popular.

What about you guys? What were your favourite books this month? Favourite posts? Favourite articles? Other fun stuff you have done? What did you get up to in the month of August?
Bye for now!

Station Eleven is beautiful! Not seen that one before. My favourite read of the month has to be She is Not Invisible by Marcus Sedgwick. Can’t recommend it enough 🙂
It is a really pretty cover (a hardcover at that which I <3)! The story looks awesome too.
She is Not Invisible is on my TBR list – might up to move it up a bit! 😉
You did very well Brin. Happy September reading!
Thanks – same to you! 🙂
Happy September reading!! 🙂
