Stacking the Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality
what’s the buzz (tell me what’s happening)
Not a whole lot going on this week but I did find time to get some old-school book titles! I went to see the new Mission Impossible film which was very… Mission Impossible-ish! Very little to distinguish it from the other films in the series but I guess you know what you’re getting when you go in which is a good thing… I guess? Tom Cruise’s love interests seem to get younger every film though. 😕
Otherwise, it’s been a pretty busy week at work so everything else has taken a backseat. I did manage to finish ‘I’ll Be Gone in the Dark’ by Michelle McNamara (which I started ages ago). It felt strange to read about EAR ONS now he has been caught (I just can’t seem to call him the Golden State Killer – too familiar with the old moniker, I guess). Disturbing stuff but still a good read.
old-school book haul

Daphne’s Book by Mary Downing Hahn | The Witness by Jesse Harris | The Undertaker’s Gone Bananas by Paul Zindel | Don’t Look Back by Beverly Hastings
Not too many books again this week (although I do have more on the way!) I’m really happy to pick up another book in ‘The Power’ series (pretty soon I’ll have them all). Also picked up ‘Daphne’s Book’, ‘The Undertaker’s Gone Bananas’ and ‘Don’t Look Back’. All of them have the quintessential kitschy 80’s covers (which I love!!)
new books bought

Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi | The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers
Just a few new books this week but I’m pretty darn excited about them both! ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ has been on my radar for a long time so particularly looking forward to reading this finally!
