Books I’ve Removed From My TBR
I always feel really mean when I talk about books I’ve removed from my TBR pile. Sometimes it’s simply due to losing interest, other times it is for something… more nefarious. Still, whatever the reasoning, there are some books I have no intention of picking up. Here are some examples:
1. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
I really wanted to read this book after watching and loving the Netflix series based on the material. However, sadly this wasn’t to be. After certain allegations came out surrounding Jay Asher, I no longer feel I can support this author.
2. Divergent by Veronica Roth
This is a bit of a sore one because I own all the books. However, after watching the films I really don’t have that much interest in the series anymore. It could be due to the over-saturation of the dystopean genre. I may regain interest in the future but for the foreseeable I am removing this book/series from my list.
3. 27 Hours by Tristina Wright
There have been some reports that Tristina Wright has harassed readers including sexual harassment. After hearing this… well, I have no more interest in reading this book.
4. The Maze Runner by James Dashner
Another author, another round of sexual harassment allegations. Sigh… seriously, this one hurt too because I really enjoyed the movies and was looking forward to reading the books. I just cannot condone this behaviour.
5. Don’t Even Think About It by Sarah Mlynowski
I just really struggled with this book. I couldn’t even make it past the first couple of chapters. Briefly considered picking it back up again (I’m such a mood reader) but I just can’t seem to summon up the interest.

I love Divergent, I think it’s one of the best dystopian books. But the rest of the series… not so much.
