Stacking the Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality
what I have been up to
Yikes, I’ve been pretty missing-in-action so far this January, huh? This time though it was definitely circumstances beyond my control. I unfortunately picked up the flu that has been doing the rounds. I’ve pretty much been laid flat on my back for the last couple of weeks.
The upside is that I have been able to catch up a bit on my reading! I normally cannot concentrate on reading anything while I’m ill but this time round has been the exception to the rule. January is normally a pisser of a month but I’m glad that I have been able get my mojo back reading-wise.
The last couple of years I have been stuck in a bit of a reading rut so I’m hopeful that this year I will finally break it. So far, so good! Anyhoo, it has been a few weeks since my last STS post so here is what I’ve recently acquired.
January haul – books bought
Den of Wolves is the last book in the Blackthorn & Grim series. Autoboyography came highly recommended. I’m really looking forward to starting it. Wolfsong looks suitably angsty – I can’t wait for all the feels!
I’ve read the first book of Tales From Verania already and it was frickin’ hilarious! Really can’t wait to read the rest!
Iron Breakers also looks like an interesting series and I am super-excited to start it. I love finding new fantasy reads. I saw it recommended on Tumblr and I thought why not? 😉
Pet is finally out!!! I’m totally waiting to savour this one! I’m so not ready to let go of this world. Kill Game also looks really, really good. Twist of Faith was a Kindle First book that looked suitably intriguing. One could say I took a leap of faith (drum roll please!)
I finally tracked down a decent copy of Summer School. I’m working my way up to get the entire Terror Academy series but it is slow-going thus far. I already have a copy of Carry On but I had to get this cover because I love it so much! It’s the most perfect cover that ever covered. 😉
January books for review
To round it off, some intriguing-looking ARCs from Netgalley. I’m trying to get my review ratio up this year and these beauts should help me do just that…
I’m slowly catching up on everything so apologies for any unanswered comments!
