Stacking the Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality
what’s the buzz: weekly round-up and book haul
I am in the middle of a long weekend which I sorely needed! Except for some stress yesterday waiting on the Finale special edition box from Fairyloot it’s been a relaxing couple of days.
I went to see Captain Marvel yesterday and really enjoyed it. Don’t let the critics put you off – it’s a solid Marvel offering. I enjoyed all the 1990s nostalgia and it definitely got more than a few laughs. I am even more super-pumped for the next Avengers film – not long now!

weekly bookish purchases
I didn’t got too mad this week, no vintage buys (will wonders never cease!) and only a couple of new books but the quality more than made up for the lack of quantity. 😉
The Wicked King by Holly Black | The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black | The Ruin of Kings by Jenn Lyons
I got my very first signed and numbered book from Goldsboro Books this week – The Ruin of Kings – isn’t it beautiful? I love the teal sprayed edges – so pretty! They have now sold out so I’m very glad I was able to snag myself one. I also picked up a couple of signed books from Forbidden Planet – I already own The Wicked King but I couldn’t resist a signed copy! I also only own The Darkest Part of the Forest on Kindle so… 😉
Falling for Charming by Sophie Weston | The Birthday List by Devney Perry | Kahayatle by Elle Casey | Birthright by Jessica Ruddick
A few Kindle titles that I got for free (I do love a freebie!) These all look rather interesting and I’m looking forward to reading them all.
The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang | Get Lucky by Lila Monroe | The Watchers of Eden by T.C. Edge | Grace Lost by M. Lauryl Lewis
I’m really looking forward to reading The Kiss Quotient – I am quite into my contemporary romances lately and this one sounds pretty perfect for me right now.

The Wicked King was just as good as the first book of the series! The Kiss Quotient I haven’t read yet, but hopefully soon! 🙂
Yay for long weekends! And I can’t wait to see Capt. Marvel. 🙂
I hope you enjoy your books!

Some great looking books and I’m glad to hear Captain Marvel was good. We managed to watch Aquaman this week now that we could buy a copy digitally.
Long weekends are the best! (I say this after a CRAZY Monday at work…)
I loved reading through all your new acquisitions, and thanks for the Spotify playlist 🙂 We nearly watched Captain Marvel this weekend, but we ended up vegetating instead – maybe next weekend!
