what’s the buzz: weekly round-up and book haul

One of these days, I’ll actually do a post that isn’t a Stacking the Shelves post! Obviously though, today is not that day. What have I been up to this week? It feels like all I did was work, work, work! It was a shockingly busy week at work so I haven’t had a lot of time for much else. I was working yesterday too so this post is a day late but better late than never, right? 😉

I did get out on Thursday – went to see The Curse of La Llorona. It was alright, though not as good as the Annabelle films or The Conjuring (I do love The Conjuring!) Got us out for a while though so that’s the main thing. I’ve also just started watching The Society on Netlix. Only watched the first two episodes but I think I’m hooked already! I just know everything is going to go to hell and I’m living for it!

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo | A Gathering of Gargoyles by Meredith Ann Pierce | The Awakening by L.J. Smith | The Fury by L.J. Smith

I finally tracked down a copy of the original cover for Shadow and Bone (because ya know I needed yet another copy of this book!) – it’s used but in great condition. I was also chuffed to track down these editions of books one and three in the Vampire Diaries series (I picked up the second book a few weeks back). A solid little vintage haul. 😉

Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan | The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary | Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I have been meaning to pick up Wicked Saints since it came out – I can’t wait to start it! I’ve also been hearing great things about The Flat Share – and I’m on a contemporary kick at the moment so it’s perfect timing for this one! I was also super-happy to get Daisy Jones & The Six for £0.99 on Kindle – what a steal!

Top Secret by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy | The Bride Test by Helen Hoang | Brooklyn by Avery Gale

I actually just finished reading Top Secret last night – I liked it quite a bit! I actually bought The Bride Test when it came out a few weeks ago but forgot to include it in that week’s STS post – oops!

Let There Be Light by A.M. Johnson | Squeeze Play by Aven Ellis | Love in the Friend Zone by Molly E. Lee

How pretty is the cover for Squeeze Play? This was a total cover purchase but it sounds like a great read so I have high hopes! I’m also really looking forward to reading Let There Be Light and Love in the Friends Zone!

100 Days of Sun Light by Abbie Emmons | Jacob’s Ladder by Charlie Pike | Spank: Odyssey by Klara Raskaj

I well and truly went back on my promise to myself to not request any more ARCs until I managed to catch up a bit. Ah well, with all these amazing-sounding titles can you blame me? 😉
