Stacking the Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality
what’s the buzz: weekly round-up and book haul
It’s been such a crazy busy week, I’ve hardly had a minute’s peace! Time just seems to get away from you sometimes. Apart from being super-busy at work, I’m not been up to much at all lately. Every night it’s pretty much just been collapsing with exhaustion – no joke. I was glad to see the weekend that’s for sure (always happy to see the weekend, to be fair). 😉
Went to see Jaws yesterday. Our local cinema quite often shows older films and it’s a film I’ve always wanted to see on the big screen. Even though I could pretty much recite the entire script (I’ve seen it so many times) it felt new again. I loved every minute of it especially the later scenes with the three men on the boat – it’s always been my favourite part of the film… especially the scene where Quint is telling the tale of being on the USS Indianapolis – literal chills… 🥶
on the blog:

weekly bookish purchases
Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim
I cannot wait to read Spin the Dawn – it sounds so awesome! I knew I had to buy the hardcover because the book is just so gosh-darn pretty! I mean, look at it… 😍
Running With Lions by Julian Winters | Wilder Girls by Rory Power | Roomies by Christina Lauren | In the Cards by Jamie Beck
I’ve been meaning to buy Running with Lions for absolutely ages so I thought it was past time I added it to my collection. I’m also super-excited to read Wilder Girls too!
The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden | The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden | The Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden | Devil Take Me by Rhys Ford et al.
I already own the Winternight trilogy but it was on sale for Kindle so I couldn’t resist (I love my physical books but it is so much more convenient having books on my Kindle).
Freebies
Irreparable Harm by Melissa F. Miller | Inadvertent Disclosure by Melissa F. Miller | Irretrievably Broken by Melissa F. Miller | Trouble in a Tight Dress by Lori Sjoberg
Some more freebies added to my ever-expanding collection. I’m not going to be short of anything to read anytime soon, that’s for sure haha!
You Make Me by Erin McCarthy | Smolder by Tracy Solheim | Saving the Preacher’s Daughter by Piper Davenport | Summer of Change by Elena Aitken
Some swoony-romances to keep me going! These all look super-sweet so when I’m feeling in the mood for a bit of romance… 😉
Love, Chocolate and Beer by Violet Duke | The Secret Son by Joan Kilby | Unplugged by Sigal Ehrlich | Imperfect Love by Isabella White
Again, some contemporary romances – I’m not normally a fan but can’t get enough of them at the moment! I’m normally a fantasy gal all the way but I think I’ve read more contemporary than anything else so far this year…
The Mesmerist by Pam McCutcheon | Long by B.B. Hamel | Never Forgotten by Kelly Risser | Goody Two Shoes by Janet Elizabeth Henderson
And another couple more! I’ve well got enough to keep me going (for a few weeks at least). 😛
Backwoods Ripper by Anna Willett | The Truth Beyond the Sky by Andrew M. Crusoe | The Perfect Roommate by Minka Kent | 7&7 by Tricia Kristufek et al.
Lastly, I also got a couple of thrillers, a little science fiction yarn and an urban fantasy/paranormal romance anthology. Not a bad wee haul, if I do say so myself… 😉
received for review
Wishful Thinking by Helen Harper | Girl Without A Face by Nasser Hashmi | Small Spaces by Katherine Arden | Lemon Lavender is Not Fine by Elle Pallmore
I was also super-happy to get the ARC for Katherine Arden’s new middle grade horror story Small Spaces – it sounds so good guys…
