Stacking the Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality
what’s the buzz: weekly round-up and book haul
So, I’ve kinda been neglecting my blog for, like, the whole of January (my bad!) To be fair, January has been a bit of a hellish month (to say the least) and I’ve just not been in the right mindset at all. I’m hoping to do much better in February… starting from today! I’d actually prepared most of this post last Sunday but I didn’t get around to actually writing it – honestly, I’m a nightmare!
I’ve not even being doing much reading, except on my lunch breaks at work… which isn’t the best. I need to do better. I have been continuing to watch (or re-watch!) The Untamed – I’m still pretty obsessed with it if I’m being honest. I’ve also been watching the new Picard series and I’m definitely intrigued if not yet quite sold… I’m leaning towards thinking I’m going to love it though. TNG was my introduction to Star Trek and it’s a very nostalgic feeling for me watching Picard.
I’ve also been keeping up with movies at the cinema. I went to see Just Mercy which was absolutely fantastic. I also enjoyed 1917 a lot. I’m planning to see The Rhythm Section and Richard Jewell next week.
I’ve also found time to buy some awesome merchandise (bookish and otherwise!) Mostly The Untamed-themed (hey, I did say I was obsessed haha!)
ADSOM pins from That’s Lovely Dear and The Untamed pin from Soju Nights: I ordered these a while back and they finally arrived! They are so pretty! I am also absolutely over-the-moon with this pin featuring Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji from The Untamed! Plus, the seller also included a whole bunch of other freebies including a postcard and some stickers (also Untamed-themed!) Wasn’t that so nice of them?
Book Sleeves from Book Besties UK and Books Breathe Magic: Louise from @ Book Besties made me a custom Untamed book sleeve – doesn’t it look amazing? I am so happy with how it turned out (I immediately purchased two more customs which you will see below!) I also got this awsome Kell (from ADSOM) book sleeve from Books Breathe Magic featuring art from Taratjah!
Pins and photocards from Amazon and poster and bookmarks from eBay: All Untamed-themed, naturally! I may have gone a bit mad with the merch…
Posters from Amazon: Also Untamed-themed – definitely went a bit mad, no question at all about it haha! I don’t feel bad in the slightest though… 😉
Book sleeves from Book Besties UK: You will spot another two Untamed book sleeves featuring stills from the show (another custom order!) One featuring Wangxian moments and the other featuring Hanguang Jun himself (Lan Wangji is my absolute favourite character though Wei Wuxian is a very close second!) I also got this reversible sequin sleeve from Louise’s shop two – the photo does not do it justice.
Pin from Illumicrate Pin Club featuring a design by Fable and Black, earrings from One Dotty Duck and pre-order goodies : January’s theme was A Curse So Dark and Lonely – the pin is stunning! I also got pre-order goodies from Blood Heir and these gorgeous earrings from One Dotty Duck (which are kinda Untamed-themed as well since they have lotus flowers on them!)
More book sleeves from Book Besties UK: the whales was a Spoonflower sale purchase and the Baby Yoda and Labyrinth ones were designs I had on pre-order. They are all very stunning!
Watches from Stardust Watches: I have wanted one of these watches for ages so I got one with some of my Christmas money… then I bought another two! The third one is still en route… 😉
