Stacking The Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
Stacking the Shelves
Here are the Rules
Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
- Participants are to create their own Stacking the Shelves post and link bank to Tynga’s Reviews so more people can join the fun!
- Posts can be laid out any way you want.
- The host site posts updates on a Saturday but bloggers taking part can post any day they choose.
- Visit Tynga’s Reviews on a Saturday and add your link.
- Visit other participants sites to find out what they have added!
The rules are simple and it is a really fun way to showcase your books and see what other bloggers are excited about this week! Not to mention the fact that it is a good way to interact with and get to know other bloggers!

here are the books i added to my shelves this week:
bought:
I have been wanting to read The Glass Arrow for ages so I finally caved and bought it! I also finally bought Magic Breaks (I am not sure why I didn’t purchases this much earlier as I am a huge fan of the Kate Daniels series). Vanishing Girls looks like an incredible read too – the reviews I have read so far are pretty overwhelmingly positive.
Mosquitoland looks awesome and I also couldn’t resist picking up a few bargains – both Black Wood and Chase the Dark were on sale for Kindle and they both look pretty great.
Another Johnnies book – yay! I also really liked the look of Merrick and it’s sequel William and I have heard a lot of great things about John Wiltshire so I thought it was time I picked up one of his books. 😉
arc’s:
I am really excited about getting approved for The Boy Next Door and I think the biography about John Hughes should be really interesting. I was a huge fan of John Hughes as a teenager (The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink and Some Kind of Wonderful were some of my favourite movies) so I think this book should be an enjoyable read. Love is the Drug also looks really intriguing.
other purchases:
Not strictly book-related (well, Outlander kind-of is) but I really wanted to share these recent purchases with you all!
Really excited to watch the first eight episodes of Outlander again. I was really surprised by how much I liked this series but then again, it is Ronald D. Moore, the man responsible for the revamped Battlestar Galactica and some of my favourite episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
My other half also bought me a build-a-bear chick which I have named Violet (because she is purple duh, I’m so original!) – this technically was for Easter but I got her a little early. 😉
Finally, I got myself some more Concrete Minerals make-up. These two sets Naughty & Nice and Sugar & Spice have some really gorgeous eye-shadow colours. I am so glad I discovered this range!

I have not been on my blog much over the last couple of weeks. This flu is really kicking my arse. I just can’t seem to shake it off. I am really behind with some of my posts and I have been dreadful at keeping up with any comments (apologies!) but I am hoping to get caught up over the next couple of days. Being sick really sucks though!
Here is a picture of me looking really pathetic and feeling completely and utterly sorry for myself (a good patient I do not make). Never mind, I think I may finally be on the mend (or I hope so at least)!

At least I have plenty of books to see me through! Hope you enjoy your haul too – I have been meaning to read C.L. Wilson for years – looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this book. 🙂
Great haul! I really want to read The Vanishing Girls! Hope you feel better soon and enjoy all your new books 🙂

Awesome haul – I have had my eye on At The Water’s Edge – looking forward to seeing what you think of it. 🙂
Aw, get better soon. Great selection of books! I’ve been meaning to watch Outlander- seems like a great series.
Thanks! Outlander is really awesome. I haven’t read the books (yet) but the series is definitely worth watching. 🙂
You read M/M romance too? 😀 Have you read Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat?? BEST M/M ROMANCE SERIES EVER.
I kinda DNF’d The Glass Arrow but I hope it will work better for you 🙂
Oh, I definitely want to read Mosquitoland! It has such an amazing cover!!
Enjoy!!
I certainly do! I haven’t read Captive Prince yet but I do own it – I’ve been holding off reading it until the third book comes out but so many people have recommended the series to me I am starting to reconsider that decision lol. 😉
Another great series I would recommend is In the Company of Shadows – it’s a free read and it is incredible! Absolutely gut-wrenching at times though!
I have heard mixed reviews about The Glass Arrow but I’m hoping I will still enjoy it – fingers crossed anyway. 🙂
Mosquitoland looks like the kind of quirky read I will adore – and you’re right, the cover is fantastic!!
I’m planning to read The Glass Arrow too; I hope you’ll enjoy it! I THINK I’ve started the Kate Daniels series at some point, but it’s been so long I can’t really remember much of anything. I definitely know I didn’t hate it though. 😀 Get well soon!
Thanks – hope you enjoy it too! Lol, the Kate Daniels series is pretty long – I’ve totally forgot what happened in which book. 😉
Cheers for the get well wishes – I am starting to feel a little better. 🙂

Ugh, I hate it when these damn viral things come along and knock the stuffing out of you! My dad and I have a stomach bug which is making us feel sorry for ourselves! Hope you feel better soon!
I know, I just shook it off and then it came back even worse. 🙁
Stomach bugs are the worst – there is absolutely nothing you can do for them either. Hope you and your dad feel better soon. <3
