Stacking The Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews

Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

  • Participants are to create their own Stacking the Shelves post and link bank to Tynga’s Reviews so more people can join the fun!
  • Posts can be laid out any way you want.
  • The host site posts updates on a Saturday but bloggers taking part can post any day they choose.
  • Visit Tynga’s Reviews on a Saturday and add your link.
  • Visit other participants sites to find out what they have added!

The rules are simple and it is a really fun way to showcase your books and see what other bloggers are excited about this week! Not to mention the fact that it is a good way to interact with and get to know other bloggers!

this was my haul over the last couple of weeks:

Ok folks, you know the drill… this week I will be posting my latest bookish purchases. I never know how to introduce this topic so lets just get stuck in…

The Raven King by Maggie Steifvater finally came out and it was glorious! I did have a few little quibbles (the end resolution felt rather rushed) but overall it was a very satisfying end to the series. Look out for my review in the next couple of weeks.

I was lucky enough to snag a signed book-plate designed by Maggie herself. I also picked up these gorgeous prints from Redbubble by an amazing artist la-haine. They also have a Tumblr with more of their art which I would highly recommend checking out. I absolutely love their depiction of Ronan. <3

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas also came out. I haven’t started it (yet) but I have heard a lot of good reviews although a couple of things I am a little concerned about. Guess I will see for myself when I finally get round to reading it!

Bucky and Steve just had to muscle in on this photo (something about them being even older than the books that have been stacked up lol). My obsession with collecting vintage paperbacks continues (long may it reign). 😉

Here is another picture of my vintage haul. I really don’t know where I would be without eBay – I get so many books that would be difficult to get ahold of otherwise. Amazon Marketplace is also another great resource.

The Rose & The Dagger is finally out *does happy dance* I am so excited about this book. I am currently reading it just now and loving every minute of it! I also picked up another couple of books for my Kindle that looked really interesting.

| The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater | A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas | Ludo and the Star Horse by Mary Stewart | Silver on the Tree by Susan Cooper | The Armourer’s House by Rosemary Sutcliff | The O’Sullivan Twins by Enid Blyton | Greenwitch by Susan Cooper | The Grey King by Susan Cooper | A Loss of Innocence by Meredith Hall | The Bad and the Beautiful by Caroline B. Cooney | Breaking the Rules by Candice Ransom | The Wrong Side of Love by Meredith Hill | The Haunted Heart by Blossom Elfman | The House of Fear by Jahnna N. Malcolm | The Rose & the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh | The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison | Dear Emily by Trudy Stiles | Afraid to Fly by S.L. Jennings |

other purchases:

I really love Punky Pins so when I saw they were having a spring sale I hopped right over. I have wanted the Craft-inspired pin for ages. It wasn’t on sale but I decided just to get it at the same time. I love my three new necklaces (can you spot the Alice in Wonderland themed one?) they are all really pretty.

I am a huge fan of Sparks Emporium and they were having an offer for free shipping so I jumped at the chance to order these earrings I have had my eye on. They are really delicate and pretty and I absolutely love them.

for review:

arc 1

I got some great books for review too. I always love a bit of fantasy so these four books are definitely ones I am looking forward to reading. The covers are all really pretty too (I know I shouldn’t just a book by its cover but I totally do). 😉

arc 2

There were also some really awesome-sounding contemporary books that I was super-lucky to be approved for. I cannot wait to get stuck in!

| The King Slayer by Virginia Boecker | Raelia Lynette Noni | Magic Fell by Andi Van | Arrivals by Ellen Kushner | The Problem With Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout | Baby Doll by Hollie OvertonPaper Butterflies by Lisa Heathfield | Unicorn Tracks by Julia Ember |

Hope everyone has had a great week. Have a Winter Soldier GIF on me!

Thanks Grace! Hope you enjoy your haul too. I’m loving the cover for The Copper Promise – looking forward to seeing your thought on it. 🙂

  1. Vintage paperbacks are such a cool thing to collect! I have a shelf of old bodice rippers myself but hadn’t considered collecting them before. That’s a good idea. Hope you enjoy your haul!

  2. Awesome haul! I’ve been hearing some good things about A Court of Mist and Fury as well. I’ve also been hearing quite a few people angry about how a certain ship got burned though. I hope you enjoy it when you get around to reading it.
