In light of the fact that the clocks go back in the early hours of tomorrow, I thought I would do something a little bit different…
Series featuring time travel elements:
Time is literally going back an hour – so what better way to celebrate this fact than having a look at Young Adult books that feature time travel? I haven’t read all of these series but they definitely intrigue me…
| A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle |
This series is considered one of the definitive works of Young Adult fiction so it is only fitting that it is featured here. I haven’t read it personally but it is definitely something I want to experience for myself (it’s just a pity I didn’t discover this when I was a kid – I would have been over-awed I think).
| Time Travelers by Caroline B. Cooney |
I remember reading this series when I was younger. I cannot remember a great deal of what happens in it save for the fact the protagonist goes back to the 19th Century and falls in love with a boy from that time, but I do remember really liking it.
| The Ruby Red Trilogy by Kerstin Gier |
This series has been on my TBR list for ages – it looks wonderful and time travel is a key plot point. It is about a girl born into a family of time travellers who goes back into the past. It looks really intriguing and I really must get to reading it very, very soon!
| Hourglass by Myra McEntire |
I bought the first book in this series a few years ago and still haven’t got round to reading it yet. I am not sure why – it looks like it has a killer plot that definitely puts a new spin on the concept of time travel.
This is a series I am incredibly excited to read. The time travel element is very different in this – it’s about a character who can see her potential futures depending on what path she chooses – sounds awesome!
Other series/books that contain time travel elements:
| Timeless by Alexandra Monir | Time Between Us by Tamara Ireland Stone |
| The Immortal Descendants by April White | The Eternal Enemy by Christopher Pike | The Starlight Crystal by Christopher Pike |
| The Future of Us by Jay Asher & Carolyn Mackler | The Here and Now by Ann Brashares | All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill | The Puzzle Ring by Kate Forsyth |
| Erasing Time by C.J. Hill | After Eden by Helen Douglas |
Well, that is an impressive list of books about time travel – but I would need a Time-Turner to be able to read all of them methinks!

These look interesting! I love time travel 🙂
I do too! 🙂
I love books with time travel! A few of my favorites are TEMPUS by Tyra Lynn and THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE by Audrey Niffenegger. I really want to read RUBY RED, PIVOT POINT, and ALL OUR YESTERDAYS 🙂
p.s. Isn’t the time change next weekend? I thought it was on Nov. 2nd. . .
I’m a fan of time travel books too – love seeing characters totallyy out of their element lol. 😉
In the UK it’s this weekend…maybe different elsewhere… 🙂
Whoops! I didn’t think about that 😉
Lol, it’s all good – I actually thought it was next weekend too, my partner had to remind me it was this weekend. 😉
Great post! I’m currently reading Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier 😀
Thanks!
Awesome – I’ll be looking forward to seeing your thoughts on it. 🙂
🙂 It might be a month before you do actually because I won’t be doing any book reviews while I’m participating in #BookBlogWriMo during November!
