Top Ten Tuesday is an awesome meme hosted by the lovely folks @ The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is top ten:
Most Anticipated Books For The Second Half of 2017
I have a few books that I’m really looking forward to in the latter half of 2017 but here are a few off the top of my head:
1. Immortal Reign by Morgan Rhodes
Expected Release Date: December 12 2017
The last book ended on a wicked, wicked cliffhanger so I am waiting with bated breath for the next (and last *sob*) installment of the Falling Kingdoms saga.
2. 27 Hours by Tristina Wright
Expected Release Date: October 3 2017
I really like the sound of this. I enjoy science fiction but really do not read enough of it these days and this book looks like the perfect fit to get me back into reading the genre. Plus, it definitely qualifies as a diverse read so I am definitely excited for this.
3. The Genteman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
Expected Release Date: June 27 2017
I have read the sample chapters for this book and they have gotten me suitably intrigued. The premise sounds promising and the main character is both funny and engaging (from what I have read anyway). Definitely on my to-buy list!
4. Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller
Expected Release Date: September 5 2017
A fantasy novel with a gender fluid main character? Colour me intrigued! I definitely want to check this one out as it looks like it could be the start of another epic fantasy series.
5. All the Crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater
Expected Release Date: October 10 2017
This book is written by Maggie Stiefvater. That is enough to pique my interest. I love Maggie’s writing and this book looks really interesting. Sign me up!
6. Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley
Expected Release Date: June 6 2017
I adored Cath Crowley’s Graffiti Moon and A Little Wanting Song so I am overjoyed that Words in Deep Blue will be released in the UK this year (it has been out in the author’s native Australia since last year – I’m not bitter, really, promise). 😛
7. Want by Cindy Pon
Expected Release Date: June 13 2017
This book has been popping up on my social media feed for a while and I have seen plenty of rave reviews so I am definitely interested in reading this.
8. Shimmer and Burn by Mary Taranta
Expected Release Date: August 8 2017
This book appears to be both familiar and different (if that makes any sense?) I am certainly curious about it at any rate so will likely make it a priority read when it is released.
9. The Ends of the World by Maggie Hall
Expected Release Date: July 18 2017
This one’s kind-of a cheat because I haven’t yet read the first two books in the series but I have decided to hold off until this one is out so I can read them in quick succession. I am really keen to start reading this series though so it has been a struggle to hold off!
10. The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo
Expected Release Date: September 26 2017
I can be iffy on short stories but I love Leigh Bardugo and the world she has created so this book is definitely a must-buy. I am looking forward to getting stuck back into the Grisha-verse!
