Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s theme is:
Top Ten Authors I Own The Most Books From
This list could be never-ending because I tend to hoard books from authors I love and quite often own multiple copies, but I digress… There are some authors though who by sheer prolificness (is that even a word or did I just make it up??), I own way more books from in average. Here are my top ten picks:
1. Raymond E. Feist
I own a whopping (at the time of this post) 26 books by Raymond E. Feist which is pretty scary when you put it in terms of how much money I’ve spent amassing his books (totally worth it though!)
2. Kelley Armstrong
I have a total of 24 Kelley Armstrong books – all the same series as well (and the spin-off young adult books of the adult series). That is astronomical!
3. Richelle Mead
I own 21 different Richelle Mead books (various series) and I don’t foresee a time when this author is not on my auto-buy list.
4. Rachel Vincent
Rachel Vincent is another author I own rather a few books from, 20 to be exact. I don’t love all of them (Faythe from Stray makes me want to throw things) but I always enjoy her writing.
5. Katharine Kerr
A favourite of old, Katharine Kerr books are always worth checking out and I re-read the 19 books I have of hers frequently. 🙂
6. Karina Halle
A newer favourite, I adore her Experiment in Terror series but it was Sins & Needles that really got me into her writing and started off my collection (19 and growing strong!)
7. L.J. Smith
One of the most prolific authors of my teen years (although, no one has anything on R.L. Stine – that man could surely pump them out!) I own 18 of her books.
8. Robin Hobb
My favourite author, it is not surprising that Robin Hobb ended up on this list. She is only at number eight due to volumes put out – if there were more books she would definitely be higher! As of now, she has 17 books of which all are in my possession.
9. Juliet Marillier
A respectable 16 books – that’s nothing to be sniffed at! I wish she had more books out because I would buy the hell out of the lot of them!
10. Jacqueline Carey
So far, Jacqueline Carey has 14 books published – and I own them all mwahaha! Her books are seriously addictive…
**EDIT**
Confession time – I also own books 1 though to 100 in the Sweet Valley High series (recently purchased them for a song on eBay) but I did not count them for this list because Francine Pascal only created the series – it was a team of ghostwriters who wrote them!

Great idea!
I had a lot of fun compiling this list. 🙂
What impressive author collections you have! I have yet to read a book by Juliet Marillier though I hear good things. Mead made my list as well. (Happy Silver Shadows release day!)
Thanks! Juliet Marillier is amazing – one of my favourite authors and every time she releases a book I have to buy and read it straight-away!!
LOL – I have pretty much all of Richelle Mead’s books but have not read them all yet. 😉 Huge VA and Bloodlines fan though. Happy release day to you too – needless to say my copy of Silver Shadows (which I pre-ordered btw!) did not appear today so therefore did not get added to this list!! 😀 Oh well, I wouldn’t have had time to read it today anyway (grumbles).
Love the list. I need to read more Feist and Marillier, and my friend has been recommending Hobb as someone I should read, too.
I would highly recommend all of them. I don’t read as much Raymond E. Feist as I used to but I thoroughly enjoyed the Riftwar series and its various spin-off’s. Juliet Marillier and Robin Hobb are two of my top authors of all time – I always try and pimp their books out to everybody! LOL 😉
I have really been wanting to pick up some of Robin Hobb’s work. Also have you read the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead. I love The Vampire Academy and just recently bought Gameboard of the Gods, but I have been eyeing her other series and wondering if its worth the buy/read.
Robin Hobb is an amazing writer. I have loved all of her books/series but I have a soft spot for The Farseer trilogy – love the Fool and Fitz!!
I have only read the first Georgina Kincaid book but I did enjoy it. The Dark Swan series is good as well but I ended up really wanting to throttle the main character! 😉 I would say give her other series a try.
I will most definitely have to pick some of those up! Thanks for the rec/ advice !
You’re very welcome! 🙂
holy book collections batman!
LOL – I have a tendency to hoard – especially books!!
it’s impressive!!
Thanks – totally running out of shelf space though! 🙂
The really sad thing is, is I have probably only read two of those authors. 🙁 I always wanted to read most of those series just never got around to it.
There are a lot of books that I want to get round to reading too – it’s finding the time. 🙂
I have a handful each of Armstrong, Hobb, and Carey–just not enough for them to make my list. I’ve read more of their books from the library, though.
I was the same – it was later on I started to build up a collection. I borrowed Assassin’s Apprentice from the library and didn’t read the rest until I bought the books years later! I used to be at the library constantly. 🙂
Your collection is impressive! And I thought I have it bad. 🙂
Thanks! I used to have a lot of books when I was younger but gave most of them away when I moved house. I really regretted it afterwards so I think I have built up an even bigger collection to compensate. LOL 😉
