Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s theme is:

Characters I Wish Would Get Their Own Book

I am sure we all have favourite secondary characters that we would like to see get their own novel. I often get quite attached to side characters, a lot of the time even more than the main characters with whom I am supposed to empathise with the most. Here are my favourite side characters that I wish would get their time in the sun! 8)

1. George and Jack – The Edge series by Ilona Andrews

the edge

I just adore both George and Jack – they are such awesome characters! It helps that you see them grow up over the course of the series (and that they never fall into the realm of ‘annoying child characters’). They were never the main focus but they played a significant part in each of the books. I keep my fingers crossed for the day that this dynamic writing duo will revisit this series (they just have to – these two characters are just screaming out for their chance to shine).

2. Draco Malfoy – The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

I just bet that a lot of people will include Draco on their lists. I have a bit of a soft-spot for the bad-boy types and would really love a chance to see what makes Malfoy tick! I think it would create a really interesting dynamic to see things from his POV. I know he is a bit of a git but he is an interesting character who could do with having a few more layers.

3. Cezar – Wildwood series by Juliet Marillier

Cezar was not exactly the most likable character but he certainly was an interesting one. Tormented and twisted from past misdeeds, his story would be a fascinating one. I would really love to know what happened to him.

4. Micah Youngbood from Falling from the Sky by Nikki Godwin

falling from the sky

I love Micah Youngblood – he is such a cutie-pie! I would love to get a story from his perspective. He was my favourite character in the book and I really would like to read about him again.

5. Agent Barclay from the Unravelling series by Elizabeth Norris

unraveling

I was a little meh on him in the first book but in the second… oh my goodness! I loved Agent Barclay – he was the true star of the second book in my humble opinion. His perspective would be awesome.

6. Finnick Odair from the Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins

Untitled

I love Finnick but I don’t feel like he got quite enough page time. His story was both sweet and tragic and I would love to see what lies beneath the confident, seemingly cocky, exterior.

7. The Darkling from the Grisha series by Leigh Bardugo

grisha

Granted, I haven’t read the whole series (yet) but the Darkling is by far and wide my favourite character. Is he a nice guy? No – but he is extremely fascinating and I would love to get inside his head and poke around in there to see what makes him tick!

8. Carswell Thorne from the Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer

lunar

I adore Carswell Throne – he is just the kind of book boyfriend I love to read about and I would love to get more of him (I know there are some parts from his POV but not enough for my liking)!

9. Legolas from the Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

lotr

Legolas was always a crush of mine as a young ‘un. He was mysterious and hello – hot elf!! I would have loved a book about Legolas – it would have been incredible!

10. Meredith from Anna and the French Kiss series by Stephanie Perkins

anna

I feel really bad for Meredith in this series. She is a really fantastic character and I would have loved to see her get her happily ever after. Hopefully Stephanie Perkins will revisit the characters in this series at some point.

  1. I’d read anything from every HP character, to be honest. Even from the portrait’s POV hahaha. I also want to be inside Dobby’s head too ^^
Same thing applies to the Hunger Games characters, especially the former victors. I mean, I wanna know how they coped with everything, not just the games but also being the Capitol puppies.
Oh, and I didn’t think about Legolas while doing my list! But I would be awesome as well ^^
