Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that showcases the upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.
my pick for this week
Release date: November 10 2015
From Richelle Mead, the #1 internationally bestselling author of Vampire Academy and Bloodlines, comes a breathtaking new fantasy steeped in Chinese folklore.
For as long as Fei can remember, there has been no sound in her village, where rocky terrain and frequent avalanches prevent residents from self-sustaining. Fei and her people are at the mercy of a zipline that carries food up the treacherous cliffs from Beiguo, a mysterious faraway kingdom.
When villagers begin to lose their sight, deliveries from the zipline shrink and many go hungry. Fei’s home, the people she loves, and her entire existence is plunged into crisis, under threat of darkness and starvation.
But soon Fei is awoken in the night by a searing noise, and sound becomes her weapon.
Richelle Mead takes readers on a triumphant journey from the peak of Fei’s jagged mountain village to the valley of Beiugo, where a startling truth and an unlikely romance will change her life forever…
why i am waiting
Are you kidding? The fact that it is a new Richelle Mead book is enough to get me excited but that synopsis sounds amazing and I am really looking forward to reading this!

I actually haven’t read any of Richelle Mead’s but this one LOOKS AWESOME. I’ll definitely be adding it to my TBR. Great choice! 🙂
Thanks! It does look awesome – I am really looking forward to reading it. 🙂
I’m so excited for this!! Plus it’s a stand alone, so no waiting!! AND A FANTASY STAND ALONE IS SO RARE!!

I have to admit, I was pretty happy to see it was a standalone! I love series but it is hard waiting for each new book. 🙂
I am a bit behind on the Bloodlines series now (darn that book slump) but I plan to read the last two books soon and catch up.
Waiting is ALWAYS hard lol. 😉
I’m not one for vampires, so I never read any of her other books, but this one looks way too good to pass up. I’ll definitely be adding this one to my TBR.
It really does look amazing. I love Richelle Mead’s writing. You should try Gameboard of the Gods – it’s very different from her vampire books. 🙂
