what’s the buzz: weekly round-up and book haul
Well, howdy folks! I disappeared off the face of the earth there for awhile, huh? Well sort-of, I was still somewhat active on social media (though not nearly as active as usual). I didn’t plan to take a such a long break from my blog (like, a month and a half!) but sometimes you need to recharge your batteries and get away from everything for a bit.
I was trying to balance my work-home life and it all got a bit too much so something had to give (and it’s not like I can just decide not to work haha!) I also couldn’t take an actual holiday so a virtual one was the only real option. 😉
I’m feeling loads better (despite having picked up a nasty cold – who the hell knows where – I’ve barely left the house in months!) so it is well past time to get back into the blogging life!!

I’ve been trying to catch up with reading etc. and getting into all kinds of Chinese web novels – I blame The Untamed for that (except not, because these novels are awesome!) I’ve got all the MXTX novels lined up to read/re-read (I have already read MDZS and TGCF but I blasted through them so quickly I feel a re-read is necessary). I’ve also been (slowly!) reading 2HA (or Dumb Husky and his White Cat Shizun) by Meatbun Doesn’t Eat Meat and it is fantastic (but very angsty and long – think it will take me a while to get through).
I’ve also been having a lot of Netflix and chill days when I have time off from work. I’ve just about finished watching Teen Wolf (on season 6 right now) and have started watching The Haunting of Bly Manor (which looks really promising). I think I will probably watch Cursed next…
Gaming-wise, I’ve been replaying Dragon Age: Origins (going to play through DA: Origins, DA 2, and DA: Inquisition again), and also played an awesome game called Tell Me Why by the same people who did Life is Strange. It was a really amazing game with great representation (a trans MC and mlm love interest). I would highly recommend it!
I’ve also found the time to buy plenty of bookish and other related merch too (of course!):

- MDZS themed pins from eBay and Aliexpress: I debated about the first pin for ages because it was kinda pricey (and coming from the US so postage was killer too) but eventually I decided that I had to have it!
- Dragon Age and Mass Effect pins from Sartizan: I couldn’t resist these beauties! I’m slowly building a collection of BioWare themed pins and these are just the perfect addition!
- All for the Game prints by RosieThorns88: I haven’t been buying much in the way of bookish merch lately (aside from pins) but these prints were just too awesome and I had to add them to my collection.
- Wei Wuxian Yiling Lazou Nendoroid from Dekai Anime: He finally came!!! He is just awesome and I’m so glad to add him to my other MDZS Nendoroid collection!
- Cloud Final Fantasy 7 pin from Fiveonthe: He is simply stunning and I will definitely be buying the rest in this series when I have some spare cash!

- Final Fantasy 7 Remake ‘Lilies of Midgar’ set by FunfettiGetti: I love these pins so much!! I can’t wait for their second set ‘Saints and Sinners’ (The Turks! Rufus! Vincent Valentine! Reeve!)
- MDZS themed pins and Wang Yibo pin from eBay and Aliexpress: I can never resist MDZS merch! I’ve had my eye on these for ages and I finally caved. 😉
- Two pairs of earrings from One Dotty Duck: I love this shop so it’s never a surprise to find myself ordering some jewellery from them every so often…
- MDZS acrylic stand from eBay: I also love acrylic stands, especially MDZS ones!

- Mass Effect Wrex and TGCF pins from Sartizan: OMG, I love these so much!! I was so happy to be able to snag a Wrex (I love that Krogan!) and the TGCF pins are so beautiful…
- MDZS keychains from Amazon: these are super-cute!
- MDZS pins from BogigrellAnimeArt: These are absolutely adorable! So happy I was able to obtain a set.
- Wangxian bunny pin from Cytaoplasm: This pin is seriously so, so pretty… I just can’t help but gaze at it in awe…
- Dragon Age pins from HauntYourHouse: I finally have Zevran! And Dorian too! So happy with these. 🙂

I was also super-happy to snag the Wangxian bunnies from Happipop in their recent restock since I missed them the first time around.

- Stranger Things and Serpent and Dove book sleeves from Book Besties UK: These designs are gorgeous and the sleeves well-made and sturdy as always! So happy with them!
- Final Fantasy 7 Remake pins from Tea No Sugar Art: How awesome are these pins? I’m so happy I was able to get them when they were restocked – I would have been gutted to miss them!
- Yuri on Ice pin from The Painted Doodles: This pin is so adorable! I’m so planning to buy more of their YOI pins!!
- MDZS and Wang Yibo acrylic stands from eBay (with a few extras including MXTX postcards and pin, Leo Boys sticker from SerenityMoonBluesStudio: I am loving these acrylic stands and the sticker is just too cute for words!!
- Necklace from Shikku Shikku: I’ve had my eye on this one for awhile so I snapped it right up when it went on sale!! It’s so beautiful…
