The Friday 56

I decided it would be fun to take part in another weekly meme! This time it’s the Friday 56, which looks like fun and a great way to be part of the bookish community!

The rules are as follows:

  • Grab a book, any book
  • Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
  • Find any sentence (or a few, just don’t spoil it) that grabs you
  • Post it
  • Add your URL post in the link on Freda’s most recent Friday 56 post

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

lolaBudding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion…she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit–more sparkly, more fun, more wild–the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.

When Cricket–a gifted inventor–steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

Synopsis from Goodreads

56%

“Calliope’s voice rings inside my head: The special trips home to see you.

An uncomfortable question lodges itself in the pit of my stomach. And what am I doing right now?

Making a special trip to see him.”

    • It’s a sequel – Anna and Etienné appear in this as well (as supporting characters!) It’s not quite as good as Anna and the French Kiss but it is still worth reading. 😉
