Brin’s Book Buzz: January
It feels like it was barely any time at all since I put up my December post – and now we are into January! 2014 in general was a really quick year, which in some ways is good since it means all of those new releases are just that much closer!
Mind you, if you are anything like me and you are having to penny-pinch after all the Christmas hullabaloo, it is not so good that time is marching on quite so quickly. I will really need to watch my spending this year and I have made a resolution to stop buying so many new releases – which does kind-of fly in the face of this particular feature!
Nevermind, I am sure that I will work something out! In the meantime, I am still going to highlight each month’s new releases that I am most excited for.
Here are my picks for January:

Fairest by Marissa Meyer
Buzzworthy Scale:
Why I am buzzed: A fairytale story from the perspective of the villain? I live for these kind of stories! Queen Levana is the biggest mystery of all. Who is she really? How did she get to be the scariest of all the scary people in this world? The questions are endless. Now, we will hopefully get some answers!
Release date: January 27 2015
Ensnared by A.G. Howard
Buzzworthy Scale:
Why I am buzzed: I have been dying to read this particular series for absolutely ages but I wanted to wait until the final part of the trilogy was out before diving in (nasty cliffhangers and all that). I am a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland anyway but the idea of a modern-day retelling which includes all the creepy features that made Wonderland such an awesomely scary place for me as a child? Yes please with a sprinkle of sugar on top!
Release date: January 6 2015 (yes it’s out already and yes, I do have my copy!)
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
Buzzworthy Scale:
Why I am buzzed: I have heard so many good things about this book. It has been pitched as a mix between The Fault in Our Stars and Eleanor and Park which has piqued the attention of many, myself included. It looks like a good mix of heartache and feel-good which I am definitely craving at the moment.
Release date: January 6 2015 (also released – I have an ARC which I am stoked to read!)
I Was Here by Gayle Forman
Buzzworthy Scale:
Why I am buzzed: I am a huge fan of Gayle Forman. If I Stay and Where She Went are two of my favourite contemporary reads. The topic looks hard-hitting and emotional – I do love me some angst in a book. I will definitely be seeking this out.
Release date: January 29 2015
The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall
Buzzworthy Scale:
Why I am buzzed: This looks incredible plus I am always on the look-out for new authors. It looks like a really exciting and twisty read.
Release date: January 13 2015

Other January releases I am excited for:
| A Cold Legacy by Megan Shepherd | The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley by Shaun David Hutchinson | The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black | Never Never by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher | The Prey by Tom Isbell |
What books are you looking forward to this month?
bye for now!

Lots of great new releases in jan this year! I still need to start the splintered series
There are a ton of new releases this month! I could have featured so many more but I got a little tired by the end lol. 😉
The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley!! And that reminds me, I should hurry and read my eARC 🙂
You are very lucky to have an ARC! It looks fantastic!! Hope you enjoy it. 🙂
I won All the Bright Places in a giveaway. I probably wouldn’t have checked it out otherwise, but I’ve read lots of great reviews on it, so I’m looking forward to reading it.
Congrats! It does look pretty good – I have had my eye on it for a while!.
Hope you enjoy it. 🙂
I love this! Clever, clever! 🙂
Thanks lovely! <3
