Ten Years! Where On Earth Did They Go…?
Hey everyone, I kinda did a disappearing act for a bit but I couldn’t let my ten year blogoversary pass by without marking the occasion (even though I’m off by nearly 4 weeks since it was on August 4th!)
I wish I could say I’ve been absent because I’ve been so busy but the truth is that I just haven’t felt much like blogging (which all my half-started then abandoned posts in my drafts folder can attest to). I can’t see that much improving over the next couple of weeks because a really big (gaming) life moment is nearly here for me – the release of Baldur’s Gate 3!
Yes, I know it’s been out for nearly a month on PC but I’m a console gamer so… I’ve had to wait a bit longer! (though I caved and went for the PS5 version because not sure when exactly the Xbox Series X version is coming out though rumours are it will be some time before the end of the year so I’ll probably splash out and get the collector’s edition – that is if they offer it for the console…)
I know over the next couple of weeks (which I have off, coincidentally) BG3 is going to be taking up much of my time but I’m going to try and squeeze in a couple of posts if I can.
Anyway, back to the purpose of this post. I honestly cannot believe I’ve been blogging for over ten years now. In some ways the time has flown past but at the same time it feels like I’ve being doing this forever. I go through active phases and then decidedly less active phases but I can honestly say that blogging has been a rewarding experience for me.
I’m a hobbyist blogger, never had any notions of aiming for higher, but have a lot of respect for all the bloggers out there (big and small). It isn’t as easy as it looks and although I do feel the positives do outweigh the negatives; I’m not going to lie and say I haven’t thought about giving this up at times, especially as having a written blog is becoming more of a thing of the past with the popularity of other platforms such as BookTube and BookTok.
However, this is what I’m comfortable doing (I could never see myself going on camera ever!!) so I’m sticking around for the foreseeable, who knows, might even still be going at it in another ten years time haha!

Congrats! I’ll be at 10 next year!
Congrats on 10 years! That is amazing! I totally get how blogging can be hard. I definitely have had moments where I’m on a roll and other times, I don’t want to blog at all. At least you continue to stick with it. I probably will always stick to blogging. I don’t want to get behind a camera either lol.
