The Friday 56
I decided it would be fun to take part in another weekly meme! This time it’s the Friday 56, which looks like fun and a great way to be part of the bookish community!
The rules are as follows:
- Grab a book, any book
- Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
- Find any sentence (or a few, just don’t spoil it) that grabs you
- Post it
- Add your URL post in the link on Freda’s most recent Friday 56 post

Will Jessica steal Todd from Elizabeth?
Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield are identical twins at Sweet Valley High. They’re both popular, smart, and gorgeous, but that’s where the similarity ends. Elizabeth is friendly, outgoing, and sincere — nothing like her snobbish and conniving twin. Jessica gets what she wants — at school, with friends, and especially with boys.
This time, Jessica has set her sights on Todd Wilkins, the handsome star of the basketball team — the one boy that Elizabeth really likes. Elizabeth doesn’t want to lose him, but what Jessica wants, Jessica usually gets … even if it ends up hurting her sister.
Meet the Wakefield twins, their guys, and the rest of the gang at Sweet Valley High….
“Elizabeth frowned. She had a sick suspicion who Jessica was going out with, but it didn’t make sense. Why should she have to sneak to go out on a date with Todd? Knowing her sister, it was just one of the many detours Jessica took off the straight and narrow in order to spice up her life. She stared at Jessica, who was bubbling over with excitement, and her heart sank.
She was certain Jessica was going out with Todd.”
Ah Jessica, you sneaky, conniving wench (and could Elizabeth be any more of a doormat here?) This re-read is going to be fun!!
Ah man! I miss those books!!!!!!! 🙂
They were so wonderfully trashy!! Loved SVH. 😀
I read this one back in the early 90’s. 🙂

I think this was before my time :3
My BB and 56
Sweet Valley High was really big in the late 80’s and early 90’s – not so much now. 😀
Interesting pick – Say Her Name looks like something I would enjoy. Thanks for sharing!
