I am notoriously bad at challenges (and made a conscious decision to avoid them for the last couple of years) but I have decided to dip my toe back in once again and see if it takes in 2019! The 2019 Beat the Backlist Challenge hosted by Austine @ Novel Knight looks like so much fun I couldn’t resist signing myself up. 😉
The purpose of this challenge is to knock those backlist books off your individual ever-growing to-read list. These can be of any genre, any format, and any length. The only real stipulations are that the book must have been published in 2018 or earlier and has to have been started and finished in 2019.
I have a lot of books on my TBR – physical books, eBooks, ARC’s, eARC’s – you name it! So this challenge sounds perfect. There are all kinds of mini challenges too which will definitely be fun. Two of my goals this year was to get more involved in the book blogging community again and to review more books so I think taking part in this challenge will definitely be a step in the right direction!
I’ve provisionally signed up to read 100 books via the annual Goodreads challenge (I sign up every year) and I’m going to try my level best to make at least 12 of these (or more if I decide to increase my goal) backlist titles. Wish me luck!
Oh, and I’m also going to join up with the Hogwarts House Mini Challenge (because, why not?) and since I’m a Ravenclaw at heart… well, you know which house I’ll be joining. 😉
