Books I Want to Read Summer 2019
I do one of these posts just about every single season of every year and (for the most part) end up reading pretty much none of the books on my list haha! Part of it is probably because I’m such a mood reader – I can’t force myself to read something if I’m not feeling it in the moment. It makes it so hard to plan ahead or even to comprise a list such as the one I am attempting to do here.
However, I’ve been on a real contemporary kick lately (so much so that contemporaries may even overtake fantasy in my most-read genre this year – shocking, I know!) so I’m pretty confident that I will more likely than not get to these books at some point this summer… oh, and these are all books I own, just FYI…
1. Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
This one looks just so darn sweet, I can’t even… Seriously, I’ve been waiting for this one coming out for ages so I snapped it up right away as soon as it came out (I did have the physical copy pre-ordered but it went the crow road somewhere so I settled for the eBook for now).
2. What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera
This book was on my radar for ages (hello, it’s Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera!) but despite having it on my shelf for a few months now I haven’t read it yet. It seems like a perfect summer, breezy read so I maybe have just been saving it… 😉
3. Get Lucky by Lila Monroe
I’ve heard it through the grapevine that Get Lucky is a laugh-out-loud, feel-good type of book which is just what I look for in a summer read! I can’t wait to start this one – it sounds right up my street.
4. Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella
I actually haven’t read any Sophie Kinsella books, believe it or not (shocker, right?) This one looks like a really cute read – it’s young adult and has mental health rep as well. Definitely one I’m going to try and read over the next few months.
5. Lock & West by Alexander C. Eberhart
I have been wanting to read this for ages and I finally splurged and bought the eBook! It just looks so good and I love to read diverse books so this ticks every box for me.
6. Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett
I got this one in a book box and I am really excited for it! A young adult contemporary with a mystery angle? Oh hell yes! It sounds like a perfect read for a summer evening… 😉
7. The Promise of Us by Jamie Beck
I read the first book The Memory of You a month or so back and I did enjoy it. However, I was more intrigued by the main character’s best friend Claire and as this is Claire’s story I am excited to read The Promise of Us!
8. The Upside of Falling Down by Rebekah Crane
I am always fascinated by amnesia stories and this one sounds like a very intriguing one, with a cute setting and a swoony-sounding love interest… what more could a girl want? 😉
9. Wait for It by Mariana Zapata
I’ve been really enjoying Mariana Zapata’s novels since I read From Lukov With Love a few weeks back. I have pretty much proceeded to purchase and read most of her back catalogue haha! I still have Wait for You waiting for me on my Kindle and I know I will be reading it soon.
10. Thicker Than Water by Brigid Kemmerer
I adore Brigid Kemmerer and Thicker Than Water is the one book of her’s that I actually haven’t read yet (well, along with her latest one Call It What You Want). This one has a paranormal twist too (the only one to make it onto this list!)

I read «Finding Audrey» a few years ago, it wasn’t bad but didn’t really impress me either. Hope you’ll enjoy it more than I did 🙂
I’ve never read any Sophie Kinsella books either, but Finding Audrey does sound good!
My TTT.
I have heard amazing things about Red White and Royal Blue. Though I am not a contemporary reader I’d still like to give that one a try someday. 🙂 I hope you will love it.
Thicker Than Water has a paranormal twist? color me intrigued!
