Favourite Covers 2019
I never miss a chance to wax lyrical about my favourite book covers (it’s the art nerd in me!) so since normal prompts are suspended for the summer, it’s time to visit old topics and put a new spin on them! Here are some of my favourites released in/or yet to be released in 2019:
1. Like a Love Story by Abdi Nazemian
I love everything about this cover – from the graphical representation to the poster-like quality… it’s just pretty damn near perfection. The pop of colour also really stands out because it is used so sparingly.
2. The Beholder by Anna Bright
The picture in no way does this cover justice. I own the hardback (with sprayed edges) and it is a thing of beauty all by itself. The colours are lovely and the illustration is amazing.
3. Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
Again, I own the hardback of Sorcery of Thorns (with shimmery, sprayed edges!) and I have no words for how lovely the artwork is. I am a huge fan of Charlie Bowater’s art so I knew this was a must-buy for the cover alone (well, almost enough – the book does sound amazing too!)
4. The Cold is in Her Bones by Peternelle van Arsdale
I love the artistry of this cover – the colours really stand out and the design is really lovely. It really makes me want to read the book and display it on my bookshelf.
5. Wilder Girls by Rory Power
This cover is so abstract – I love the creepy yet cool cutaway depiction of the girl’s face. The green background also seems deceptively soothing (which I very much doubt the book is, going by the synopsis). I really like this one…

The only reason Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell isn’t on this list is I couldn’t make my mind up between the UK and US cover (I’m definitely getting both when it comes out!!)

I love that cover for The Beholder – I can’t wait to read it. 🙂
Wilder Girls really is stunning! and so creepy, it perfectly conveys the mood of the book (or what I imagine to be the mood from the blurb/reviews I’ve read). I can’t wait for this to come out!
