Books on My Summer 2020 TBR

I’m not sure how many of these type of posts that I’ve done, but I do know that I very rarely (if ever!) actually read the books I list. I’m such a mood reader that it’s difficult to predict what I will actually feel like reading at any given time.

Still, it’s fun to have a goal – I’m trying to be realistic about the books I think I have a good chance of getting to this summer. So without any further ado, here are my ten choices:

summer tbr

1. Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

Since I finally have my copy of Aurora Burning, it makes sense that I should finally read Aurora Rising. I’m not sure why I haven’t yet because it does look like something I would really enjoy.

2. The Raging Ones by Krista & Becca Ritchie

I’ve been wanting to read this for ages and kept putting off buying it (probably because of the cost – the Kindle version is almost as expensive as the hardback!) I finally caved and bought this and the follow-up The Last Hope so no excuses now…

3. Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin

I got this awhile back in my monthly Fairyloot box and it is sitting tempting me even as I write this. I kinda want to get their Blood & Honey box next month so I really should read this first…

4. Like A Love Story by Abdi Nazemian

I have had my eye on this one for ages and I finally bought it a couple months back. I really think it sounds like the perfect summer read so I could actually see myself reading it this summer.

5. A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer

I enjoyed the first book A Curse So Dark and Lonely and was excited to read this one as Grey was my favourite character in the first book. Yet I still haven’t read the sequel yet. Soon though… very soon.

6. Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas

I should probably read the Throne of Glass series first but when have I ever done anything conventionally? Seriously though, this one is definitely on my summer TBR list.

7. The Extraordinaries by T.J. Klune

I am a fan of T.J. Klune’s writing anyway and have this book preordered, but I also was lucky enough to be granted an ARC. I better get cracking since the book is out in a few weeks time. 😉

8. The Rational Faculty by Gregory Ashe

I was a huge fan of the Hazard and Somerset series (and devoured it within a week – except for the last book as I had to wait for its release) so the follow-up series is a must-read. Books 1-4 are already out and the 5th book is out next month. Whoop!

9. Little Hoodlum by K. Webster

I just read the first book Hood River Rat which I quite enjoyed. Little Hoodlum is next on my list as the 3rd book is out next week. Better get on that!!

10. Nightfall by Penelope Douglas

The Devil’s Night series is a firm favourite and the next (and last! *sobs*) book is out next month. I’m so excited to finally get Will’s story – along with Damon he is my favourite of the horsemen. So excited!!!!
