Most Recent Additions to My Book Collection
I’m a day late with this but I had already prepped the post so it would be a shame to miss out by being a little tardy! Here are the ten most recent books I’ve added to my collection:
1. Blades of Mars by Edward P. Bradbury
This was the book I received from Prudence and the Crow from their annual Yuletide Bundle! I like to get this every year (from my fiancé) and always try and pick a genre different to my regular subscription choices. This year opted for vintage science fiction and I’m loving the book they sent me.
2. It’s Not the End of the World by Judy Blume
This was part of my regular subscription from Prudence and the Crow. My genre of choice is vintage children’s fiction (with a YA slant although middle grade works for me too!) I have this book already but not this particular edition so I’m very chuffed with December’s pick!
3. The Husky and his White Cat Shizun Vol. 1 by Rou Bao Bu Chi Rou
I am super-happy that Seven Seas are releasing translated versions of this Chinese web-novel (due to be released in parts). I have read what is available of the online translation (which is still currently being translated) and then switched to the edited MTL (machine translation) version which was a bit difficult to read so I never finished it in its entirety. Now I’ll finally get the chance (when it is all released that is!)
4. Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation Vol. 4 by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu
This series of translated volumes is nearing completion (just one more to go after this one, I think?) I am holding off reading (well, technically re-reading because I have read the translated online version) until I have all the volumes. Cannot wait to dive back into this world!
5. Heaven Official’s Blessing Vol. 5 by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu
I think I might be even more excited to finally complete this set (though there are a few volumes left to go). I am pretty familiar with the characters from MDZS above (Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji) but I know less about Xie Lian and Hua Cheng (although I have read some, but not all, of the online TGCF novel) and I’m itching to know more!
6. Alone With You in the Ether by Olivie Blake
I don’t actually know that much about this book (besides the fact it has a gloriously stunning cover!) but I own the rest of the author’s books and have heard great things so I’m pretty hyped for this one!
7. Kingdom of the Feared by Kerri Maniscalco
This trilogy is now complete so time to get cracking! Again, I’ve been holding off until all of the books in this series were complete and in my collection. I’m really looking forward to jumping in because I have heard so many rave reviews.
8. The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black
One of the few Holly Black books I haven’t read, I also didn’t own a physical copy so when I saw this stunning edition from Fairyloot it was a no-brainer really. This naked hardcover is just so very pretty… 😍
9. Foul Lady Fortune by Chloe Gong
I haven’t read any of this author’s books (yet) but I was really intrigued by the synopsis of this book so I took a chance. Hopefully it will pay off (I’m sure it will though because I’ve heard so many great things).
10. The Heart of a Plague Tale: A Visual Making-Of by Benoit Reinier
I recently played through A Plague Tale: Innocence and A Plague Tale: Requiem and they have become two of my favourite games (and Requiem is my top game of this year). When I saw there was going to be a making-of book being released this month, I just had to get it. I’ve already had a flick through and the book is just stunning and a great companion to the games.
