Roadtrip Books
Roadtrip baby!! I love books that involve travel – absolutely love them – so this topic is a fun one for me! I’m a day late (seems to be a running theme) but I didn’t want to miss this topic. Here are some of my favourite books that include a roadtrip (well, of sorts):
1. The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
The ultimate roadtrip historical romp! I adore this book – everything about it is beyond amazing. The trip itself is very interesting (I love imagining all these places how they were back in the past). The LGBT rep is just an added bonus. I’m really looking forward to the sequel that is due out in a couple of months.
2. Saving June by Hannah Harrington
This is a more traditional roadtrip (in the truest sense of the word) and it is one I thoroughly enjoyed. It has a bit of a sadder undertone but the roadtrip itself is wonderful and it is definitely worth checking out.
3. How to Repair a Mechanical Heart by J.C. Lillis
The characters in this book are travelling for a convention – in a trusty RV! This book is an awesome look at fan culture and it has a great little LGBT romance blossoming throughout the trip.
4. Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard
‘Wanderlove’ is one of my all-time favourite books. I love books that involve trips as a means of getting through past traumas and this book certainly delivers on that front. Just a truly beautiful story set across the backdrop of Central America.
5. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
C’mon, there was no way this book wasn’t making this list! 😉 This book is the cornerstone – the ultimate roadtrip novel. Adventure, personal growth, loss… it has it all really. This was the book that ignited the travel bug in me.

Great list! I’m taking a trip to the beach in about 10 days, I might have to see if I can snag a copy of Vice somewhere…though of course I *already* have a stack to take that is as long as my arm…lol
Gentleman’s Guide sounds like a perfect roadtrip book! I love historical fiction and it sounds like it’s filled with shenanigans 😀
