Stacking the Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality
what I have been up to
I didn’t mean to take another (unplanned) break from my blog, especially leading up to Christmas, but things have been pretty hectic lately. My partner ended up in hospital again (he’s fine now) and there has been a lot going on so I have been kinda distracted.
I have been trying to relax over the last week or so and blogging has been the last thing on my mind. I really didn’t have the concentration to write anything or do much more than lounge about; gaming or reading.
I didn’t want 2017 to pass without another post from me though. What better way to celebrate the (almost) end of the year than by posting a Christmas book haul?
Christmas Book Haul
Cloaked in Shadow is a book I am really excited for so I couldn’t resist picking it up! I’m also really looking forward to Everless (had an ARC for this book already but the gorgeous hardcover came in a Fairyloot box) and Godsgrave.
Spellbook of the Lost and found has such a pretty cover! I also really wanted to read Lost Boy so was very happy when it came my way!
I’m a sucker for the Something Like… series so these were a must-have! I also got The Bear and the Nightingale and The Girl in the Tower in December’s Book Box Club box.
It wouldn’t be a STS post without some vintage books! I got Killer on the Road via a ‘Blind Date with a Book‘ on Lipsy Lost and Found’s Etsy store. I’ve always wanted to read the book so I was more than happy with this!
I also got Lonely Rider and The Lion of Boaz-Jachin and Jachin-Boaz from Prudence and the Crow (one through my monthly subscription and one as a Christmas gift from my partner).
Also picked out a mystery book bundle from Bookishly as part of my Christmas. I went for a vintage children’s bundle and I am really happy with the books I got. I also got this super-hard-to-find book Haunted Summer via Thrift Books which I have been looking out for.
My other half also got me The Thing artbook (The Thing is my favourite movie of all time!) and the Fantastic Beasts book too which I am super-happy with! The Grisha Trilogy box set also came from Santa. I do own these books already but all in different formats. I really love the new editions so it was a no-brainer really!
Giveaways
I’m not quite sure what this book is about but the blurb looks interesting and I’m trying to read more non-fiction. It’s a win-win really!
Books for Review
Was also over-the-moon to be approved for More Than We Can Tell! I really love Brigid Kemmerer’s writing and Letters to the Lost is a personal favourite.

What gifts did Santa bring you this year?

Hope your companion fares better soon. Got me curious about Something Like Hail. Enjoy your goodies and happy reading.
Everless and Dracula are on my wish list for sure! It looks like you got some serious goodies in this haul. I hope you enjoy all of them and the holiday season!
WOW! Your holiday haul is amazing! I seriously love that cover of Everless. I’m hoping to read that book tonight or early next week. It sounds so good. 😀 I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
Happy New Year, Brin. =)
Check out my STS post!
That’s a wonderful haul. I’ve also mostly lounged about this week! Something about the holiday time that you can’t do much else.
Have a great 2018 🙂
Wow, that’s a lovely haul! There are a lot of books that are on my TBR too 😀

What an awesome haul. I adored Lost Boy but have to admitted cover caught me off guard. I’m used to the other one. Godsgrave is gorgeous. I got Crooked Kingdom and Six of Crows for Christmas. Should I read the Trisha Trilogy first?
Hunting Prince Dracula & Lost Boy are two of my favourite books. Have you read them yet?
