what’s the buzz: weekly round-up and book haul
Well, it kinda feels like I’d dropped off the face of the earth the least few months (even to myself hehe!) I’ve sorely neglected my blog in the process as well.
I was very unlucky and caught Covid (after 2.5 years of managing to avoid it!) which really knocked me for six. I still feel like I’m wading through quicksand even almost seven weeks later which really sucks. I got my booster and flu jab this week so hopefully that’s me set for winter (although the Pfizer booster has left me with swollen lymph nodes under my arm and in my neck (which hurts like you wouldn’t believe!) so I’m feeling rather sorry for myself, clearly lol.
Apart from that, life has been pretty normal. I’ve have been catching up on my TV; I watched both the Rings of Power and House of the Dragon when they came on. I enjoyed both but was surprised to love HotD a whole lot more and as a Tolkien fan, and someone who was burned out after Game of Thrones, that was really surprising!
I also starting watching The Last Kingdom which is amazing (on season 4 right now – will be gutted when I have watched all of the seasons – but that’s always an excuse to watch them all over again!!)
I also got really into gaming again. I played through A Plague Tale: Innocence (which I bought when it came out a few years back but hadn’t gotten round to playing yet) and A Plague Tale: Requiem which solidified itself as my favourite game of the year by a wide margin. I played through both games twice and managed to snare every achievement which is so not like me at all haha!
I kinda already want to replay them again but I’m so far resisting. I have been alternating between Persona 5 and The Quarry instead (both awesome games). I have also been playing Elden Ring which I am enjoying even though it is perhaps one of the hardest games I’ve ever played (I usually play on easy mode for cripes sake!!)
