Stacking the Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality
what I have been up to
The one thing guaranteed to make me smile this week is unicorns! Or books about unicorns which is what I’m all about right now. I don’t think I’ve ever grown out of unicorn themed stuff to be honest. I used to plaster my bedroom walls with unicorn posters mainly from Athena – anyone remember that shop? Also got my very first Lord of the Rings poster there too. 😉
I’ve been all kinds of nostalgic this week. I went to see Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom at the beginning of the week. How crazy is it that it’s the 25th anniversary of Jurassic Park? Yeesh, I feel old AF!
Speaking of nostalgia…
vintage book haul (unicorns!)
The Tricksters by Margaret Mahy | The Eyes of Karen Connors by Lois Duncan | The Unicorn Quest by John Lee | The Unicorn Dilemma by John Lee
I’ve wanted to get my hands on a copy of ‘The Eyes of Karen Connors’ for ages and now I finally have one! I also picked up a paperback copy of ‘The Tricksters’ by Margaret Mahy and ‘The Unicorn Quest’ and ‘The Unicorn Dilemma’ by John Lee. A pretty decent haul, if I do say so myself. 😉
other books purchased (no unicorns but shifters yay!)
Exhale by Joel Abernathy | Bleed by Joel Abernathy
I also snagged this intriguing-looking series by Joel Abernathy. Shifter stories are hit and miss for me but this looks pretty good.

The Transfigured Hart by Jane Yolen | That Secret You Keep by Brenda Benny
I remember loving Jane Yolen when I was younger so I’m happy to try another of her books ‘The Transfigured Hart’. Love the cover too!! I’m also pretty excited for ‘That Secret You Keep’.
Boundary by Mary Victoria Johnson | Barrier by Mary Victoria Johnson
I don’t know too much about this series but I was pre-approved for it and it definitely looks like something I would enjoy.

I hope you like your books! I had a unicorn-themed bedroom when I was little. I remember watching Jurassic Park with my friend when we were kids. It’s weird to think that it’s so old.
