Book’s I’d Like To Read Again for The First Time

Today’s T5W prompt is to consider books that we would love to re-read for the first time again! I am a great re-reader of books (I find something knew with every subsequent re-read) but there are more than a few books I would love to experience reading again for the first time and get to re-live the gamut of emotions I felt the first time through.

I have to narrow it down to five (which was really difficult) but I think I’ve selected some of my all-time favourites that elicited such a response from me that I would give jus about anything to feel that excitement again.

1. Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier

book’s i’d like to read again for the first time

This is just such a gorgeous book, I would dearly love to once again experience the joy of reading it again for the first time! It was my introduction to Juliet Marillier’s books and it remains a firm favourite all these years later.

2. Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb

book’s i’d like to read again for the first time

The book that kicked off my favourite all-time fantasy series (Realm of the Elderlings) I read this book as a teenager and it wowed me. A number of years later I sought out the rest of the series and never looked back.

3. Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon

book’s i’d like to read again for the first time

This is a power-house of a novel. A dystopian book with a difference it completely and utterly enraptured me as a teenager. I read it again as an adult and it still has that wow factor.

4. Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard

book’s i’d like to read again for the first time

This is an absolute blinder of a book (and one that really made me want to visit Central America!) I just loved everything about it – the setting was amazing and the characters so relatable.

5. Warchild by Karin Lowachee

book’s i’d like to read again for the first time

This book… broke me in the best possible way. It isn’t an easy book to read but it is just such an enthralling, character-driven story. I love it so much and would be over the moon to read it again for the very first time. Alas, I cannot go back in time…
