Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s theme is:
Books I Enjoyed With Under 2000 Ratings (Goodreads)
This is such a cool idea for a topic! It proved to be a little challenging but I really enjoyed coming up with my answers so without any further ado, here are some of the books I have enjoyed that have under 2000 ratings on Goodreads:
1. The Late Great Me by Sandra Scoppettone
All of Sandra Scoppettone’s young adult books are criminally under-appreciated (IMHO) but I was surprised to see that this awesome book only has 172 Ratings on Goodreads!
2. The Other Side of Dark by Joan Lowery Nixon
This book is one I remember fondly from my younger years. Joan Lowery Nixon was one of the best at creating intense thrillers for teens. This book only has 1,742 Ratings on Goodreads.
3. Warchild by Karin Lowachee
This book definitely tops the list of my most favourite science fiction books ever. I love science fiction but I am very picky when it comes to the genre. Warchild just smashed all of my expectations and it is a darn shame it isn’t more well-known. It currently has 1,460 Ratings on Goodreads.
4. Pantomime by Laura Lam
Such a wonderful debut novel from Laura Lam. It really deserves more attention. It currently only has 1,754 Ratings on Goodreads.
5. (In)visible by Anyta Sunday
This is a really beautiful story that I would urge everyone to read. It is amazing and should definitely have more than 298 Ratings on Goodreads.
6. Gives Light by Rose Christo
This is another absolutely stunning read which definitely should be way more popular. There is just so much to love about this book, the characters are so endearing and the story so very poignant. It only has 1,954 Ratings on Goodreads.
7. Zoey Fools Around by Katherine Applegate
The series as a whole is actually very underrated. It was one of my favourites as a teen because it was more realistic than other teen series I read such as Sweet Valley High. This one only has 504 Ratings on Goodreads which is a shame. It has been re-released as The Islanders so hopefully it will appeal to a whole new generation.
8. How to Repair a Mechanical Heart by J.C. Lillis
One of my favourite young adult books of the last couple of years. It manages to be both laugh-out-loud funny and sweet. Yet it only has 1,382 Ratings on Goodreads. 🙁
9. Suicide Watch by Kelley York
A truly beautiful book. It manages to be completely heart-breaking but hopeful at the same time. It currently has 1,116 Ratings on Goodreads.
10. Where I End and You Begin by Andra Brynn
This is a really amazing read and one of my favourite new adult books. It is not an easy book to read but it is very worth your time. It has 739 Ratings on Goodreads.

While reading over my list, it appears most of the books are LGBTQA which makes me a little bit sad that they are not more widely read. These books definitely need a lot more love.

Great list. 🙂 I think I own Pantomime on Kindle, but have just never read it. I’ll have to remedy that.
