Stacking the Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality
what’s the buzz: weekly round-up
I’ve been largely MIA the last couple of weeks. Been trying to get organised for Christmas plus work has been rather busy (it’s busy all the time but even more-so at this time of year).
I’ve also come down with the dreaded lurgy (i.e. the cold). I have been feeling off for the last couple of weeks but it came to a head on Thursday. It started with stomach issues (which meant I had to walk out halfway through Aquaman *sniff*) and then developed into a full-blown cold complete with runny nose and a general feeling of lethargy. I’m feeling quite sorry for myself, truth be told.
my bookish haul
Not too many books this week (well, not many considering it’s actually been approx 2 weeks since my last STS post!)
books bought:
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins | Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins | Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins | Silent Night by R.L. Stine
I have wanted these foil editions of The Hunger Games for absolutely ages so really happy to finally add these to my collection! I also found a brand new copy of Silent Night, one of the Fear Street series books – pretty appropriate given the time of year too!
Top:
Down a Dark Hall by Lois Duncan | Killing Mr Griffin by Lois Duncan | The Thing by Alan Dean Foster
Row 1:
The Secret Diaries: Escape by Janice Harrell | Twins by Caroline B. Cooney | Fatal Secrets by Richie Tankersley Cusick | The Silent Scream by Diane Hoh | The Mall by Richie Tankersley Cusick | Deadly Attraction by Diane Hoh | The Wish by Diane Hoh | The Roommate by Diane Hoh
Row 2:
Spellbound by Christopher Pike | The Eternal Enemy by Christopher Pike | Bury Me Deep by Christopher Pike | Die Softly by Christopher Pike | Whisper of Death by Christopher Pike | Road to Nowhere by Christopher Pike | The Immortal by Christopher Pike | Slumber Party by Christopher Pike | Master of Murder by Christopher Pike | The Last Vampire by Christopher Pike
I may actually have gone a bit (just a bit!) mad on second-hand books – whoops! Nevermind, I managed to get quite a few good ones. Some duplicates but overall a pretty decent haul. Lots of Christopher Pike books – he was a firm favourite of mine back in the day. 😉
In the Pines by Laura Lascarso | The Memory of You by Jamie Beck | Found in the Night by Ben Alderson
I’ve already read (and loved!) In the Pines so really looking forward to reading the rest of these beauties!
for review:
Spectacle by Jodie Lynn Zdrok | Summoned to Thirteenth Grave by Darynda Jones | The Parisians by Marius Gabriel
I hadn’t intended on getting any more ARCs until I’d caught up a bit (okay, a lot!) with my current outstanding reads but I had been approved for a couple of books I had requested a while back. Then I couldn’t resist The Parisians… I’m a nightmare – honestly…

The Parisians is looking good. Happy reading.
