Stacking the Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality

what’s the buzz: weekly round-up and book haul

This week has been a bit of a non-starter (despite starting off with a bank holiday!) I just can’t seem to shake this stomach bug so it’s not been the funnest week for me! 🙁

On the plus side, I’ve been playing The Technomancer (again). I’m now on my third playthrough – and honestly, it’s such an underrated game. I have no idea why it isn’t more popular. Well, I do have some idea – the combat is really hard until you get used to it (I can never seem to go above easy level and even that is a challenge!) and it’s very easy to miss important quests. Overall though it is a solid game with really great characters.

Andrew is my favourite character and him and Zach are so sweet (yep, there is a m/m romance – it made being forced to play a male protagonist much easier for me!) I have tried out the romances with the two female companions as well and though I do like them, I much prefer to romance Andrew. It makes sense to me that the achievement for his romance is marked ‘Soulmate’. 😉

The Game by Monica Hughes

I have been meaning to buy Invitation to the Game (now renamed The Game) for years and years. It’s about time I bloody did haha!

Fell by M.E. Kerr | Fell Back by M.E. Kerr | Close Enough to Touch by Richard Peck | Hey, Dollface by Deborah Hautzig

Yeppers, I know I have yet another copy of Close Enough to Touch (it’s a long boring story!) but I also got these other Lions Teen Tracks editions of Hey, Dollface and the Fell series. Good times!

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi | Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh

Rounding out this week’s haul is The Gilded Wolves (this looks so good!) and Brideshead Revisited which is another book I’ve had on my to-read list for years.
