what’s the buzz: weekly round-up and book haul
When it comes to blogging, I’ve done a big ‘ole heap of nothing this week! Seriously, I’m not sure what has been wrong with me – I am so demotivated lately. I think I am sorely needing a wee holiday so luckily I finish up from work for two weeks at the end of next week. It has been a long time coming, that’s for sure! 😉
Outside of my blogging; life has been pretty piss-poor as well if I’m being totally (brutally!) honest. I did manage to get out to the cinema yesterday with my other half. Saw Once Upon a Time in Hollywood which was good but very long. We then decided to go out for a meal (well, pizza at Pizza Hut to be precise!) so it wasn’t a bad day at all. By the time I got home I just couldn’t face doing my weekly book haul post so I’ve left it until today.
I did get quite a bit of bookish merch through the post this week which is always good. The usual mix of art prints, book sleeves, pins and jewellery.
🐸 Book Sleeves from Book Besties UK: these were custom designs and I am so happy with how they turned out!
🐸 Jewellery from One Dotty Duck: I am loving the alcohol ink art on the necklace and earrings set!
🐸 Prints from Redbubble: artists are Lauren Richelieu and Merwild – getting all the Cruel Prince merch while I can!
🐸 Bookmarks from Happy Hello Art: again, picking up as much Cruel Prince merch as I can, but look at the little Steve and Robin from Stranger Things… aren’t they adorable??
on the blog:

books bought
Smoke in the Sun by Renée Ahdieh | The Girl the Sea Gave Back by Adrienne Young
I’m always happy to add signed books to my collection so when I saw these beauts up on Forbidden Planet I just knew I had to get them. Plus, also pictured the Cardan pin I got from Happy Hello Art – they also threw in this cute as heck Cardan bookmark! Wasn’t that nice of them? 🙂
Play On by Samantha Young | The Best Thing by Mariana Zapata | Regret by Christina Lee
I’ve already read (and enjoyed) Play On and The Best Thing – looking forward to starting Regret – it sounds like something I would enjoy.
freebies
Nothing Stays in Vegas by Elena Aitken | All the Things we Lost by Kayla Tirrell | Falling for You by Julie Ortolon
I can never resist a freebie and this week is no exception – lots of interesting titles this week!
Roommates by Hazel Kelly | Drawn to You by Brooke Page | Undo Me by M. Robinson
The cover for Roommates is pretty darn… steamy (ahem). I’m not sure if I’m excited or scared haha!
Just the Way You Are by Ann Roth | O’Gallagher Nights by Mignon Mykel | The Edge of Temptation by J. Saman
I was really happy to pick up the complete O’Gallagher Nights series – it looks like it should be interesting.
Reckless Kiss by Amelia Wilde | Fearless Kiss by Amelia Wilde | Elsie Street by Gabriella West
Was chuffed to pick up both Reckless Kiss and Fearless Kiss for a grand total of £0.00 this week!
Violet’s Story by Rachel Morgan | Elfin by Quinn Loftis | Werewolf High: The Complete Freshman Year by Anita Oh
Some very interesting sounding titles here – it’s been a while since I read anything paranormal…
Spells & Death by R. Medhurst | Fire & Ice by Patty Jansen | Twisted by Marla Meyers
A mixture of paranormal/fantasy/horror books added – I’m looking forward to reading all of these books.
Speak the Dead by Grant McKenzie | Obsession by J. Daniels | The Girl from Paradise Hill by Susan Lund
I’m in the mood for some crime fiction so hopefully Speak the Dead and The Girl from Paradise Hill scratch that itch!
received for review
The Grey Sisters by Jo Treggiari | The Weight of a Soul by Elizabeth Tammi | This Light Between Us by Andrew Fukuda
I was so happy to get approved for The Weight of a Soul – it’s one of my most-anticipated reads and I’m so chuffed to be able to read it ahead of its release date.
Into the Hourglass by Emily R. King | Breeder of Warriors by Stacey Logan | People of the Lake by Nick Scorza
I have the first book in the series so I was really happy to be able to snag Into the Hourglass – it looks so good!
