Stacking The Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
Stacking the Shelves
Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
- Participants are to create their own Stacking the Shelves post and link bank to Tynga’s Reviews so more people can join the fun!
- Posts can be laid out any way you want.
- The host site posts updates on a Saturday but bloggers taking part can post any day they choose.
- Visit Tynga’s Reviews on a Saturday and add your link.
- Visit other participants sites to find out what they have added!
The rules are simple and it is a really fun way to showcase your books and see what other bloggers are excited about this week! Not to mention the fact that it is a good way to interact with and get to know other bloggers!

what I have been up to this week:
I have been on a mini-hiatus from my blog this week because I have been away on holiday! Just a mini-break to a chalet in Pitlochry but it was lovely to get away for a few days. It was also my birthday on Tuesday so it has overall been a pretty good week despite a few bumps in the road.
I managed to hurt myself on Tuesday by lifting my suitcase awkwardly and ended up with a really sore back. I think I must have pulled a muscle or something as it is still pretty painful. Great way to spend my birthday lol. 😉
My partner has also been having a hard time lately. I don’t very often speak about his health issues but it looks as though he is suffering from ME (Myalgic Encephalopathy). We are still waiting on the official diagnosis (blood tests and such are being undertaken) but several doctors and other health practitioners are in agreement that he likely has ME. It is really difficult to properly diagnose apparently.
Still, we made the best of it and managed to have a fairly nice time away. I never got any books as presents but I did get money which I used to buy some books so it was all good!
books bought:
I am so excited that A Book of Spirits and Thieves has finally been released! I also picked up P.S. I Still Love You – now I just really need to read the first book! Also Howl’s Moving Castle is a book I have been meaning to read for a long time so I couldn’t resist when I saw it going for £0.99 on Kindle!
Every Word and Every Move were finally released in the UK! I am so excited to finally read this series (I bought the first book a couple of months back so now I have them all – yay!) and The Lie also looked like an interesting read.
Some more vintage purchases! A couple of Ellen Emerson White books that I have heard are really awesome and yet another Caroline B. Cooney book, this time her romance for Wildfire – An April Love Story.
I also picked up these three vintage young adult thrillers so looking forward to delving into these when I get a spare moment!
Birthday and Holiday haul:
Toothless is standing watch over my new Zombie Girl make-up (by Concrete Minerals) and Dancing Groot! He is also looking out for those vintage YA books that are slowly taking over my life! 😉
There was this dinky little shop in Pitlochry that sold some really awesome figurines. I picked up this Gorjuss (not a spelling mistake, that is the name of the brand) figurine called Forget Me Not (isn’t she sweet?) an also this Kimmidoll called Yumeko (the Dream Child) and a little glass pig that I have named Percy! 😉 I also got some really pretty jewellery from the Heathergems shop which I totally love to pieces!
Hope everyone has been having a great week!

Glad to hear P.S. I Still Love You is good – I have heard a lot of good things about the first book so it’s great that it is (almost) as good. 😉 Hope you enjoy your books – Tonight the Streets are Ours looks amazing. 🙂
What great finds on the vintage books! I’ve read An April Love story many times over the years. I still love it. Hope your back is feeling better.
Thanks! I love buying vintage books – especially young adult! I am looking forward to reading An April Love Story – can’t believe I missed this one when I was younger! My back is a lot better thanks – took a few days though. 🙂
I have some Gorjuss magnetic bookmarks and I really love the designs for the girl character. Also, that’s one really cool haul 🙂
